Hi. My name is Stanislav, I'm from Montreal, QC , and I'm a fresh VMAX owner. 2003 black/grey.
Other bike that I've ever ridden is my 2004 Honda shadow vt750. So VMAX is a completely new kind of beast for me.
The bike needs a bunch of things replaced and worked on, so see you guys in other sections of this forum ;)

welcome to the best vmax forum out there.. lots of dedicated owners here.....enjoy your new ride

Welcome to the forum. Here's a copy of the service manual. Save it on the computer.

Print out a copy and put it into a 3 ring binder. You will be using it frequently. You can get plastic sleeves at your office supply store, and slip the pages you're going to be using for whatever work needs to be done, into them to keep the pages free of grease & stains.

Enlarge this diagram and laminate it for easy reference.

Use the search function, upper-right, to find info on whatever you need to work-upon.

An example: carb rebuilding and screen my name, fire-medic

Good pics in this one, and parts you will need for a carb rebuild. There are over a half-dozen other thread links here as-well.

The search function is your friend, use it to research issues you encounter, and what others have done while working them.

This is helpful to all, thanks. The fine print on the bottom says "1990-2003 models". Are there no substantive changes from the '85-'89's, or anything to be aware of? I have an '85. Thanks.

85-89's share the same analog ignition system and wiring. Some parts intercharge (like the starter and stator) but many parts are specific to those years (like relays, main harness, pickup coil, and CDI).
