Kevin Swindell wins it....Pickens was 11th!
That's excellent considering who finished ahead of him.
...2 Swindells, Whitt, Coons, Windom...they have to be pleased.

It's quite an accomplishment to even be in the main. I've decided it will be a good place to go next year for a winter vaca break. A whole week of racing! can't beat that. The World of Outlaws comes up my way only once a year, I always try to make that event. It's the 410 CI version of the sprint cars, they run on methanol (850HP in a 1,375 pound car) that's something to see. The Swindell's come from that type of racing. Next year I'll get you a T Shirt if you'd like.

Speaking of cars with wings on their roof...check this out.
They're called "The Billboards"..late models with a lexan wing.
The original guys, 20 or so years ago, bent their chassis because of the down force.
Merritt is a flat 1/4 mile dirt oval, with a track record of 11.64 or something like that!
If you have never seen it, you have never seen anything like it!!
Michigan is the only place I've seen them...if you get a chance don't miss it!

Think we call it Outlaw Racing over here , i seem to remember a year or 2 back NZ hosted a big event and the Big guns from the states etc turned up .
Think they had 3 teams NZ vs USA vs Someone else (cant remember who) may of been a UK side .
