OEM toolkit

Lookie what I found, from the looks of it, this may never have been removed from its place under the seat.

What was wrapped-around it is in great shape, too.

There was one of those under the seat of the '85 I got last winter, looks like it was never removed either.

It's like getting up on Christmas when you're a kid, and finding something delightful, but unexpected under the tree. You just don't expect you're gonna find a toolkit in a nearly twenty-five year-old motorcycle.

How-many of you have your OEM toolkit on the bike? Mine on my '92 I bought from the dealer in '93 w/<1800 miles, had it still, but from the use that the bike got, I ended up w/holes in the lined heavy-muslin bag the tools come in. I guess it just abraded a bit each time the bike was kinetically-involved.

Both of mine are there. I havn't confirmed all tools are intact though. I should verify that

I still have my tool kit under my seat/ I've never had to use them!!:10_6_8:

I have mine in the original pouch. The spark plug wrench works better than anything else I've tried.

Also had the OEM owners manual....the one with the upside down golf cart inside the front & back covers.

Maybe Yamaha was using up some old manuals for the early production '85's.... :confused2:

Mine is #286 but don't know if that's got anything to do with why the golf cart is there....and why it's in french on the back page, or even what it says......Je ne parle pas la Franchez. :confused2: :biglaugh:

I have my toolkit intact but no plastic cover, is that supposed to be there too?

It clips onto the seat in-front of the niche the tool roll sits in.
