Oil in the Exhaust?

I replaced the packing in my ufo exhaust cans today and found some oil I guess, it was shiney and black

Blowby? Do I need new piston rings?

It could be something else and not drastic. How high an oil level do you run? I have a valve seal or two that let some oil by. But I can't justify a tear down. A compression or leak down test might give you some good input. How does it run?

Do a plug check....they'll tell you the details....

The oil level is fine.
