^ Did you check the site glass on the right side of the Bike, 4 qts is probably too much.
The Oil should be at about 3/4 level in the site glass with the bike cold and level.

Mine only takes a little over 3 1/2 Qts when I change the Filter and Oil.

Thats too little. Do you warm up the bike and put it on center stand to drain oil?

Yes,
I always warm it up a bit before changing the oil.
It only takes 3-1/2 or so Qts to get it to about 3/4 up on the site glass on mine.
But it never takes the full 4 Qts in my bike.
I just looked and my last few Gallon jugs still have about 1/2 Qt left and the Oil is at 3/4 on the site Glass.

Amsoil 10-40 Motorcycle Oil and Amsoil ea oil filter, change once a year. Less time changing oil = more riding time! 3.8 qts fills the glass.
