Hey guys... I finally decided to buy the Vmax after pondering the Diavel and the B-King. I must say it's a beautiful bike. Took it home yesterday, but of course I need to break it in before I can really find out what she's made of...

Nice to find a great forum where I can get lots of info and support.

Awesome! I'm on the fence myself... not with other brands but with just spending the money.

I picked up a 06 last week and had a 2000 back in 2000 but I need to look at the new one in person and study it a little more.

My dealer has one coming in Nov sometime so I will start thinking hard then.

Could I ask what you paid for it?

Enjoy and be safe,
David.

Welcome Ricko! Glad to hear of your recent gen2 score! Post pics of it when you can....

Thanks guys...

Longnap: Paid 19.5 OTD, and a very generous offer for my trade ('08 GSXR1000).

Being the end of the year, I guess they are dealing, if they still have them...

Now it's time to get some accessories...

I love that Boulevard windscreen!

Rear fender eliminator: I'm looking at taking the rear fender extension out, put the plate somewhere other than the very back, and not above the tire... I looked at the suggestions on this forum, and the web, but I still can't find what I want.

Turn signals... They gotta go, or at least put some nice clear LED in their place.

Went for a nice ride today... 80 miles. Not bad at all. I'm amazed how nimble this bike is. I leaned more than I expected. Being used to the Gixxer, it was hard not to.

Really awesome bike !!! :punk:

Congrats on the purchase Ricko! :eusa_dance: Had mine for 3 years now and still amazed by it..... handles well, looks awesome and the best motor in the business! Enjoy!!! :biglaugh:

Hey Rick!
I'm just south west of you in Vista. I have a long time friend and co-worker who's son has a cart shop in Menifee(or used to) Alex Barron. Anyway I'm off the I-15 and Gopher Canyon Road exit at E.Vista Way.Rusty,(another member here in Carlsbad) and I have been trying to hook up for a ride so maybe we can all meet up sometimes.Sure would like to check out your bike up close. Wow, what a small world. I used to live in gopher canyon/Old Castle road, right above the golf course, north of the Lorence Welk resort !!!

Let's get together soon!

I'm going for a ride to Julian tomorrow. Taking the 76 all the way ! I may go to Palomar on the way back as well.

Really is a small world and we will have to meet up one day. V Maxes are a rare breed around my area.Matter of fact I've only seen a couple of Gen 1's and no Gen II's after owning mine for a year now. Hope you get a nice day for riding tomorrow and be safe on that rocket. Someone described the Gen II as being a loaded gun waiting for the trigger to be pulled. I'm at work at the Encina Power Station in Carlsbad keeping the lights on so gotta go.lol!
