Miscellaneous

All modern upgrades have been done to this V-max including: Spin on oil filter adapter with passive cooling action (better than stock 96 an UP), 2001 front end 43mm with R1 brakes. No cheesy pre 93 40 mm forks. No scary 85? -92? double piston calipers on front end or rear. This bike has incredible stopping power and with only one front and one rear brake. All metal surfaces have been given a durable powder coat finish to protect against corrosion and the elements, road dirt and bugs wipe right off with a dry paper towel only.

- Through the chopping process I have reduced the weight of this motorcycle by over 120 lbs.

- No stock fenders front or rear
- No center stand springs or mounts (if you ever remove this from your bike weigh it, you will be surprised just how much it weighs)
- 18 Lbs. exhaust over stock 70 lbs.
- Stock controls removed ( these are heavier than Exactrep forward controls)
- Stock complete handlebar riser setup removed
- Stock headlight removed
- Single front disc brake
- Spin on oil filter adapter
- Single R1 rear brake setup
- Clear water pump cover
- Ultra-Light weight battery
- Rear rim is the lighter weight version 85?- 86? still as strong but more inside material removed (I have weighed these as well and in this rebuilding process have shipped 3 V-max rims through EBay).
- I could go on and on?..

- All fluids recently changed oil, final drive oil, brake and clutch fluid and engine coolant (pinkish red to match bike). Less than 100 miles on new oil filter.

- Everything that has been replaced on this bike was done so with new dust seals, bearings, oil seals, washers, nuts and bolts.

- Nothing on this bike leaks any fluids.
- Bike is 100% street legal in Florida with all turn signals and lights. In other states I don?t know maybe you might have to add a front fender and some mirrors that?s all. (they are listed on EBay for sale all the time and Exactrep has some really interesting after market ones for sale on their web site, or do like I do and ride without one, that?s what the $100 stainless steel wrap-around radiator cover is for). Maybe some mirrors.
- Brand new tires front and rear.
- Everything on the bike has brand new upgraded, sealed bearings
- Due to changes nothing about this bikes lets you know it is a 1990 except the title, all Yamaha factory upgrades have been made including: spin on oil filter, upgraded brakes, 43mm forks etc.
- All work done by ?Scotty too hotty? @ RTM performance
- It starts every time I stick the key in the ignition. I change the oil every 1000 miles with Yama Lube. I have never used synthetic oil in this bike. This bike has absolutely no issues at all and most people, who see it, while they are covering their ears, ask me if it is brand new. Second gear is strong and has zero problems.

- Bike has never been down, crashed rebuilt or damaged. The bike has never been raced or abused. Bike is garage kept always and is never out in the rain.
- I purchased this bike in June of 05? for $2900 with 33,733 miles on it. The new digital dash has about 600 miles and it was installed during this transformation. The bottom end of the motor has remained untouched, but my mechanic tells me that the half shell bearings on the crank and piston rings may not be a problem until well after 130,000 miles and beyond as long as I take good care of the bike. I have a friend here in Tampa with an 86? V-max with over 111,000 original miles on the motor and still runs like new. I also have a friend with a Honda Gold Wing, who tries to keep up with me, with over 200,000 original miles no rebuild, it?s all in how you take care of your machine. I have had the top end of the motor rebuilt as part of the make over on my bike. Heads have been ported & polished new valves stem seals and all proper adjustments have been made, new valve cover gaskets and rubber o- rings. Japanese bikes run forever we all know that.
- When I first got this bike it ran very strong (I believe due to good maintenance) it made 116 hp on the dyno.
- After head work, jet coated kerker 4 into 1 with 2 ? exit baffle, stage one jetting, Brand new K&N air filter, carb sync and clean, ZBoost, NGK wires and Plugs, Barnett Spring Clutch with Carbon Fiber Plates and a fresh oil change the DYNO results are as follows.

- ZBOOST off 110 hp for those times when you need more control and less power at the rear wheel
- ZBOOST 6k 121 hp stock setting we all know?.. hold on tight
- ZBOOST always on 127 hp...hold on

- This is why I went with stage one instead of seven; I wanted to be able to have the power when I wanted it but, also get better gas mileage when I wanted too.

- After reducing the bikes weight and increasing the front fork size, I don?t begin experiencing high speed wobble until 135 mph. Even with the rear bias ply tire.
- I?m sure 17?? rear wheel and/ or braced swing arm would eliminate that problem.
- All fluids recently changed oil, final drive oil, brake and clutch fluid and engine
coolant (pinkish red to match bike). Less than 100 miles on new oil filter and oil.

Wow, there's some pieces on your bike that I've only seen on modified European bikes. Your VMax certainly comes fully equipped!

Very nice list of Mods, lots of stuff I'd like to do some day.
I wouldn't sell it though if you built it, you're gonna regret it.

Incidentally

"18 Lbs. exhaust over stock 70 lbs"

I weighed my stock exhaust, the whole assembly including bolts, shields, covers, etc, last night when I removed it from my bike and it weighs 42 lbs.

wow cause i wieghed the mufflers and catalictic converter peice only and it weighed over 50 lbs. maybe it had alot of built up **** and crud in it. I know because i shipped it to someone.

And also yes a lot of the mods i bought from europe. UK and germany sell the best stuff.

Maybe they've changed from one year to the next?

Well yes they have starting in 1986, due to strickter pollution laws I assume. What year is your Bike? Some I have seen all black and some years i have seen chrome. but i did have my kerker shipped to me 4 into 2 into 1 with brushed aluminum canister weighed 18 lbs right on the postal scale stamp on the box. Sooo... Whatever the stock weighs lets say 60-70 lbs depending on age year and condition, its definately significantly more than the kerker header and can. thanks for looking

Yeah, mine's a '99 that had all chrome exhaust.

The UFO exhaust I installed weighed 22 lbs complete.

yeah the UFO is 4 inot 2 into 2 tight? hence the extra 4 lbs. for the second can. I think i might have also included the wieght of the center stand in that number, I had to remove it to put my kerker setup on, but honestly i would have removed it anyway due to its weight. thanks again for looking.
