My girl graduated with her second degree on Saturday. Proud of her for that. She is starting a new career in the Surgical Tech area.
So we had a busy day Saturday. Sunday was supposed to rain, but we decided to take a short ride and my son joined us.
First started with a walk with the dog.
Then off we went. First stop was near Bad Axe. I was able to fuel the ZX half as much as the Vmax.
Waiting for the Vmax to fuel.
Next stop was Harbor Beach.... made a wrong turn opps.... it was cold, wet and crappy there.
Quick pier walk. Everybody is in the background.
Hopped back on the road and high tailed it to Port Austin for lunch.
Ahh.... much better, 20 degrees warmer and sunny!!! only 28 miles away. Port Austin State Beach.
Clear water.... but very cold.
Nothing like raw smelt eatting off the pier.... NOT!!!!
My son and I on the pier.
Stopped at "The Bank" for lunch. Its pricey but good. Plates are around $25 each and soup was $8 a bowl. I wasn't super hungry, trying to lose a few lbs myself. So we all got the onion soup which is great, and split a Blackened Chicken Alfredo between the three of us. The waitress was great. She actually put it on three plates and I know she gave us a little more. The more I eat out, the more just two of us split a plate and realize its more than enough food for two usually.
Now thats an onion soup!
The bread is a sour dough, it was very good. The butter.... or whatever it was.... was not in my opinion.
Total trip was only 225 or so miles round trip. Its a close cool place to go for a quick ride. Average speed was 48 mph, average moving speed was 56 mph. Total riding time was around 4 hours 55 mins I think is what gps said.
Talked to my son again about coming to Thunder..... :ummm:
