Powdercoating rims

Hey gamorg,
Did you disassemble the wheels/bearings etc. yourself? If so, what about the rubber dampers in the rear wheel? Did you leave them in? I tore my wheels down tonite to PC them and got to the damn dampers then didn't know what to do. I'm afraid to throw them in the oven at 400*, I don't think they'd take the heat too well. If you took them out....HOW?

agreed, however i had the local shop do the bearings for me. didn't really have a garage in the middle of winter to do the work, i usually work out of my carport...

i got a wicked deal on it too, so i just went with the local place.

Okay thanks. I guess I'll try it this weekend then. Wonder what kind of rubber that is to stand up to that heat?
