How much could cost a radial tire conversion front and rear ready to bold ?
Aftermarket wheels can already be a little pricey so I wonder if a conversion is the way to go.

Michael,

not sure I followed this, can you rephrase?

I will be sealing my rear end.

Lets say:
-notched and braced swingarm for stock shocks with new pivot bearings and seals, freshly powdercoated, with r1 caliper instaled with new pads
-freshly powdercoated 5,5x17" 3 spoked rim with new bearings, clutch hub, dust cover and very good shape 298mm rotor
-venture finaldrive and shaft
-some misc

I would be asking around 800$.
Any custom work possible.

Also I will be sealing kawi zx rear rim converioon soon.
Price list is in my thread in wheels/tires section.

thats a great deal

unfortunately shipping to the US would probably cost the price of that!

I need some funds for my next crazy project so I'd say 900$ with shipping to usa for forum members.

Around 200-250$ for shipping I guess, 2 packages at least.
The price may change a little due the exchange rate.

I hope!

I will be offering this localy and internationaly.
But lets wait a little till the snow shows up here.
I will make some more miles till then!

Made about 300 miles today!
Beautiful weather here today.

Very nice price I guess Przemek.

Tell us when you sell it, I will see if I have the funds to finance it.
I still have a new paint, tail section and muffler in the todo so let's see :)
You ship in the Philippines I suppose ? :)

After just need to find a matching front wheel for putting a radial also on front.
You put a 190 tire on it ?

hehe sorry Garrett :)

I was wondering how much a DIY full radial setup (front and rear) conversion would cost vs a wheel setup for the vmax sold by a reseller.

the front doesn't need any work to take a radial tire. just n eeds to be a 100 or 110.

i'm not sure what you mean by DIY

kosman, you send a wheel to and they weld it up for $600 ish (rear), probably $1100 for the pair

not sure what prices are for a full aftermarket set.

by DIY, I meant some guys converted sport bike wheels to fit the max.
Vs some others who bought wheels ready to be bolt on like the ones sold by exactrep.

I always has been interested, but unfortunately I cannot ship anything from here else it will cost me too much.

I like the option you have chosen since I like the v-max wheels shape.
You preferred the welded one over the bolt one? Any reason except the look ?

I can ship it even to Antarctique :biglaugh:
But it will be little more costly...

You can put on it even a 200 tyre but I would stick wth 190/50 couse its a perfect tyre for v-max.
Bigger then 190 its just a size...none benefits in handling.

Shipping fees form PL.
44lbs or 20kg is a international limit.

From PL to north america and africa: 44lbs/20kg - 166$
From PL to middle america, south america and asia: 44lbs/20kg - 205$

mine had to be welded as th e'85 didn't have material all the way around to get bolted into as the older styles do.

No one will tell that v-max DONT handles either looks better with radial on the rear! :)

thats true who cares about handling looks a lot better!

Amazing result !!!!!!
I guess the feeling is far better too.

120 on front without any trouble I guess ?

oh definitely, and the 120 was a challenge, i'd tell anyone doing it to do a 110 or 100 next time. looking at doing a 3.5" rim next so that should solve that problem.

Hey Garrett, what rotor do you have on the rear in those photos?

its a venture rotor, not sure what years, late 80's i guess:
