"unlike no other?!!'"

What did your eighth-grade English teacher tell you about double-negatives?

I saw these at Daytona this year but I think it is too-much $$$ for what it is. Pretty bikes though. Yes, I know, "if you bought all these parts separately, you would pay more than you pay for this bike!"

Not if you "don't buy 'this bike!'"

I think this model is too gaudy.

I much prefer the Raider S and then re-pipe it.

If I get another bike that is what it will be.

But after my 05 nothing will be able to compare, I am so sad Yama did not just rework and update the Gen 1.

Back to the SCL, it is quickly dropping in price from low sales, you may be able to get a good buy on it this Winter.:clapping:

The price and weight don't do a thing for me. I'd buy a Gen 2 Vmax used first. They can be had reasonable enough to keep 6k+ in my pocket.

Or the GEN 1 of my dreams, which would have a 5 gallon tank for sure, and still weigh considerably less. I'll admit it's a good looking machine. But, there are a lot of nice bikes out there cheaper.

I do like the concept, paint, wheels. but like was said the price is coming down already. I would like to ride one to see how they run. I was at a Yamaha dealer and the salesman was really pushing the SCL model but after the initial wow factor I still prefer my Custom Max. Hell, there's only 1 of that model and I know there's not 499 more exactly like it. And I'll smoke that SCL in a race. I'd really like to customize a Gen II with a similar paint and chrome look. But, that's just me. Some on here probably think my bikes gaudy looking too but to them I simply say, oh well, I like it.

I'm still trying to figure out whether it's "like no other" or "unlike any other".:rofl_200:

ha ha ha ha!!!
I was stumped at "production custom". Is it a production bike or a custom? :rofl_200:

Still, it does look very nice. :biglaugh:

Kinda reminds me of a bass boat... :rofl_200:

To me the new fad of "factory custom" bikes seems like kind of cheating. Harley has the "CVO" line, now Yamaha has the "SCL" line.

Yes, a CVO harley or SCL edition Star will be so far and few between that in all likelihood you'll never bump into another one, so it will seem to be truly unique and get lots of looks at bike nights.

But to anyone who will recognize it as one of the "manufactured customs", to me it just says that the owner is either too lazy or too ignorant to be bothered with actually customizing the bike themselves. They just want to buy their way to the top. To me it just screams RUB.
