Ok..some more ******* questions...

Got a new MotionPro (merc) sync tool...and need to know if there's a need to keep the thing ABOVE or BELOW the carbs when in use. Or is there any difference in doing either way?...

The plastic line(s) sent, are not really long enough to reach to the mainifolds, when the stick is above the carbs.

Also, if you're doing this thing alone, how do you guys hold the thing in place, and still have the ability to make adjustments while doing so?

Little to no instruction on how to use came with it, only how to set it up, load it, and make it operable.

"I hang mine from a hook on the ceiling, but I have long tubes. Can you add longer tubes ? "

I don't know Rich, but I'd think so...as long as you can get vacuum through them, and they are equal length, I'd think it would work that way ok... Pretty good work on that homemade system...ya done good Bro'...

BTW (OT comment)...we're almost neighbors...when and where do we ever get together for a bike to bike, face to face sometime... I'm up for that if you are...

Philthy, I bought some fuel lines from auto parts store and then cut to the lenth I needed.

I put my gauge in front of the instrument cluster and just set it on that lip.

Yes DONT ever let the mercury fall below the carb level or you will suck mercury into the engine (dont ask how I know this:bang head:) learned the hard way the first time I synched my gauges.

Local hardware store plastic clear tubing. Coat hanger and something which is higher than your handlebars to hang it from coat rack? maybe, garage door rails? off the mirror of someones lifted pickup truck, list goes on and on but besure not to let it fall below the carbs
Oh yeah there is a guy on here that made his own Synch tool it looks to be about 15 ft tall check it out.

Hey Philthy , get those carbs dialed in maybe we can meet up at Quaker Steak & Lube down on 49th St some Wednesday night.

There ya go Lanky... I thought I'd read somewhere that you never want the stick to be above or below...thanks much for that info... I also hear that a LITTLE bit of merc that might accidently get sucked in, won't hurt, as long as you 'run it through' for a mile or two, very soon after 'ingesting' it... My aim is just to not let that happen...

That really tall one belongs to RichWrench. Another Tampa Bay Area guy...I think it's pretty kewl!...but I aggree, it's a BIG 'un!!!

Longer lines will be made up, before I ever hook it up...

Thanks again y'all,

Philthy

That's ok Sean! But not likely!

I bought this one from a fleabay vendor, delivered to the house for 65 bux and some change, NIB...And as seldom as it'll (hopefully) ever get used, it should last me a 'lifetime'...

But thanks anyway!

Philthy
