While attempting to replace the rear wheel bearings during the restoration of my 1997
I probably found the main source of my low speed cornering jerking.
My hub clutch (#9 from diagram here below) does not have a pretty smile... Its teeth are not great at all.





As you can see, half of the teeth are gone!
And the surfaces are all wavy.
Here are the ring gear matching teeth. I think they are in much better shape, though not perfect.

I will definitely be replacing the Hub Clutch, but should I replace the Ring Gear as well? By the way, the ring gear does not seem to be listed as a part that can be ordered separately...
