Grumpy and Allisontech tackled this at the last Tech day on Grumpy's bike. Screw of the right size and lever the screw/corrector straight up and out. Don't know why we didn't do a search here before attempting. So I haven't heard what ever bece of this so here's my take. I hope Sean can weigh in on the feasability of my hypothesis. So you got an 85. Howany miles? Anyways, allply automotive knowledge, could this be valve float? Sounds like the symptoms don't it. You have a vintage Max. A little metal fatigue is not out of the question. Could the valve springs finally given up the ghost and unable to keep up with the high rpm demands? Ever have head work/ refurbishment done on her? Just putting it out there. Maybe Sean can say if he has ever come across tired valve springs? Doesn't seem like the carb changes are affecting the symptoms. I know, not an easy fix though.

34k miles on the bike...not flouting valves...that already happend at 11k rpm:rofl_200:
this happens at 5500 and above.
Just put in a rust free tank last week, drained the bowls today...chunk of hunks of rust bits out of #1 & 3 carbs. Blew them out...try and take it out saturday if not fixed will take the carbs off to clean.

Just been prolonging the agony, hate to work on carbs, and still thinking it feels like it might be a weak fuel pump?
Do these go often?
Any way to test?
