Yankee's wet dream. :rofl_200:

Race off with a Wonka Oompa Loompa scooter I don't remember any mopeds in the original Charlie & The Chocolate Factory movie, but maybe I'm just getting old. Anyway, they were in the recent Johnny Depp-starring remake, and now one's up for grabs on eBay for ?1,450. You start it with the pedals, and then a motor kicks in. At least, it does in theory - the seller isn't sure if it works any more. Anyway, it's a good buy if you're a fan of the movie (and, er, you're not particularly large).

You could do some more tuning on the vmax and at least get it to 40mpg. It's easy to do with the right setup.

I'm not sure what will get that kind of speed for the price you want to spend. I see them all the time but mostly for pit bikes. Why not check around the next time you are at the drag strip and see if some of the guys there will let you try out the various scooters to see what will and won't make the speed you want.

Sean

Yeah I wouldnt have a problem to set my VMAX up to get 40+ MPG, Install the OEM airbox, put some small mains in, lower the needles, hook the v-boost back up, install smaller skinnier lighter tires, I realize all of this. The VMAX isnt used for econmy though. I ride the VMAX for its performance and the thrill of the wobble LOL!
Thanks for the idea though.. Hows your bike feeling? Any ideas for stronger gears in the tranny? I would get it together and rechallenge Jon some where this time closer to your neck of the woods since you drove cross country to challenge him. If he was a man he would challenge that offer.

YANKEE , YOU ARE ONE FUNNY " SOB " I HERE " HITCH HIKING " IS VERY CHEEP - GOOD ON GAS & FREE INSURANCE ! CAN'T BEAT THAT ! " LOL ":rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

You guys are to damn funny:rofl_200: I knew that I would get laughed at and the jokes would come!! Scooter :rofl_200: Dont make me sell my vmax for a hi-tech scooter and join the Vespa Forum.. I dont think I would last 2 days on the Vespa board before being thrown off, thats what I like about VMAX riders, MOST can take a joke or critisim, and some are just sensitive and get there feelings hurt easily.

Thanks for that pic, I dont think I can wait for a wet dream. I am going to print this picture out and have some alone time in the bathroom! :rofl_200:

MIGHT EVEN GET LAID ! :th_love031::wkwk:

Well, I am still figuring out a way to out run the pigs on a scooter with a top speed of 60MPH....

I did it on a Trac Moped back when I was 14.. Ok another one of Yankees stories.. this one is true though.. i think:ummm:

I was 14 and lived in Milltown NJ. Well I was out cruising for babes on my 49CC Trac Moped, now this is a moped not a scooter making a whopping 1.5 HP:bang head: top speed was 30MPH
I was going down a long hill on this 2 lane non passing, road speed limit was 25MPH well I was entering warp speed pushing 35+ MPH :eusa_dance: but I was approaching this damn car going the speed limit 25 mph :bang head: should I slow down or pass this ******* :confused2:
Hell yeah why break a good thing I may hit a new speed record, so I passed this car hitting 40 mph well now I look this car is speeding up! I look around and I see the driver motioning me over, well now I see blue lights flashing through the grill of his unmarked Crown Victoria, ****!!:bang head:
So, now I turn off on this road and knowing there is a a dirt road that leads up a hill to the road I live on..:eusa_dance:.. The heart is racing! This is thrilling my first chase and I think I can beat him,, which I did.... so anyways..
I hit the dirt trail and head up a 50FT hill to the blacktop rd,, Wooo Hoo no more copper:eusa_dance:
I get to my house fly down the driveway to the backyard and park my moped behind the house, run in the house and hide out almost like a bank robber.. I hang out and about 10 mins I hear a knock on the door,, peeking out the window I see the car I just been chased by :bang head:

Turns out it was my neighbor that lived behind me and he was the Police Chief:bang head:..

I bought the FZR600 for my moped.60 miles to the gallon.I finally have everything done on my wifes fazer.Finished getting it ready for inspection.Retightened everything so that nothing falls off and got the new brakes all seated in for her. That bike is really fun to ride around on!Handles really nice with the radials.Everybody looks at that thing and wonders what the hell it is.Now that it's done I can finish the 600 and get it on the road.

:ttiwwp:

I know you posted a pic a couple of months ago, any updates??

I tore the carbs apart and cleaned them out,got the fuel pump working, synced the carbs.Runs good now. When I bought it it was cheap because it would not run. 10k miles.
I tore the clutch out to check it out, looks like new but I am going to bead blast the steel discs while I have them out.
I did not transfer the title yet because I wanted to make sure it was streetable before putting a plate and insurance on it.I ordered a complete body bolt set for it.some of the hard ware was missing. It will be done soon.
It hasn't been a couple months, maybe 3 weeks tops.I really needed to finish this fazer thing for my wife and was waiting for parts. The new job thing and UFO day took up some of my time.
TODAY IS MY LAST DAY AT THE OLD JOB!:th_image003:
I also still need to do the compression test on my max.Too much going on!

Ok here it is!! :eusa_dance:

Who wants to race me on there VMAX?

Auto clutch I should be able to 60ft like a bigg dawg on it...

To try and get this thread back on the original topic, after a morning of riding in the dirt with my dual sport I went to the local Timmies for a coffee. A guy pulled in on his scooter and started talking to me about my DRZ400 (he has one too). I asked him about scooters and his is the 250cc model that Yamaha puts out. According to him, he tried out the 150cc bikes and found them too slow and underpowered for most roads. He rides his 250 on the highway with a top speed of 140 kph (70 mph). It gets over 60 mpg and it also had hard case trunk bag on the back (could hold 24 cans of beer, no problem). He was saying that it was lightweight, very maneuverable and great in city/no moving traffic. The guy was about 6 feet tall, average weight and didn't think it was physically too small for him. I don't know if you are still looking for a scooter, but by the sounds of it you should a 250 at the minimum.

Finally had time to get my moped back together today.Need to now transfer the title, get insurance and a plate.Be on the street soon.
