Sound in neutral and clutch released

All engines i had every one made a slightly ticking sound when in neutral and clutch released . When you press the clutch it goes away. Does anybody know why is that .and if it can be eliminate it

I'd start by replacing the bearing in the pressure plate. Easy to access an inexpensive.

i have a burnett clutch plate with almost 4000 km , do you thing the bearing can go bad. it was sitting although almost 3 years

I would not think so but it's cheap enough. I don't remember if the pressure plate includes a new bearing?
