Sure, call anytime or come by if your in the area Rov.
I can do hot, but very cold is tough. Hard to grip things and everything wants to snap off. That's what I miss working in a marina in the Northeast-NOT.

It's no wonder it was no problem for you at Danny's to rejet your carbs using a flashlight (mostly in the dark), standing on a rock ledge and talking to three different guys about how to sync with a weber carb sync tool! You probably had some other enviromental factors there too, I am just covering what I noticed! :punk:

I had a 427 vette guys--- don't even remind me about changing plugs!

HINT! Involves lift, removing front wheel, and loosing motor mount.

But it was worth it to drive that thing!
My brother had a Blue 427 '69 Vette that he went through a few engines (3-4) but he said he never had to pay for replacing them. The car was fast as hell, but I was just 8-10 years old so I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
He bought the car from Ernie Grissom Chevrolet (Ernie had a cabin in Paradise, MI, my hometown in the U.P.) and when it blew up he'd have it towed to the nearest Chevrolet dealer, call the factory rep (or whoever it was) and a new engine would show up and the dealers time was paid for by this rep. My brother is a long time truck driver and can spin the yarn so I'm not sure how much of this is true, but I've heard the story numerous times and he tells it the same each time. Also he was a union carpenter at the time so I'm sure he didn't make enough to replace the 2 motors that he blew up in the U.P..

Chevy replaced my first motor free. It was stupid to put a 5.54 rear in a car that light! went down to a 3.90 and the second motor did just fine- and the car was quicker! That is until I took in in to the dealer to get the shift linkage replace (free). The "tech" that test drove it managed to put a couple of valves thru the pistons. The dealer said they wouldn't cover it because the car wasn't "stock" The service manager had the nerve to tell me that the 427 "never came with tri power" They were not even aware of the 450hp option! (OK I guess there were like only 80 made or something like that. Ended up they fixed it free after a couple of go rounds- then it took almost 2 months to get it back because they only made a small number of the open port heads and all had been installed in cars. They ended going out to the tech center and taking a head off a car they had out there to fix it. It was never as fast after they "fixed" it. Before it did 157 on the Seney stretch (M28). After it only did 151. Also lost a tenth at the drag strip.

One of many toys I wish I still had!
