Thermal underwear are a great thing! It's been 25 to 30 degrees when I start my morning commute, bike starts right up and runs great! Anybody else riding in the cold?:rocket bike:
I ride as long as the temp is above 0 degrees. Used to commute to Ft. Knox in winter. Once it was minus -15F when I left the city and it got colder in Kentucky. Surprised I didn't get frostbite. Last year finally bought leather chaps, gloves, vest, boots and jacket. What a difference. Bring it on, I ride all year long here in tropical sunny Cincinnati (NOT) as long as the roads are dry.maleko89 said:Thermal underwear are a great thing! You = tough customer.Waylander said:Pfft!! You softies, it was 10 here this morning and I still rode to work!!
Even got up to a wopping 17 degrees at about 1:00pm. THen the clouds rolled in and it dropped again.
Better than it does when it's been running for a while (damn hot start issue)Jayhawk said:You = tough customer.
How does the bike start when it's that cold?

Waylander said:Should also say that my last post was a joke. Temperatures here are measured in Celsius.
10C=50F
17C=62.6F

lol I get my mates back in Plano with that one all the time too.Jayhawk said:Really? So far, mine is a bit temperamental and needs a bit of coaxing to get running when cold (garage temp, around 50 or so), but starts like a champ when it's hotter than H (after a short stop, fan running, etc.).
OK, I bit on that one hook, line and sinker.
Yikes. No thanks.
A heavier oil viscosity will also make cold starting a bit harder. In cooler/colder temps, a 10W30 will perform better than a 20W50.Jayhawk said:Really?
