Fairly certain any speed that gets you a 500$ ticket isn't going to get waived cuz you served time in the military. I'm about as patriotic as they come but if someone is 'allowed' to exceed the speed limit by such a margin and, on the basis of service to the country, that sets up a pretty serous precedents. I don't think I know a single service man who would expect such treatment.

Having said that, I'm a speed freak too and hazarded my licence often enough for same such excessive displays of speed too.

It just happens that one of my crew mates has a best friend who's a ParaLegal and he's on my case as we speak... Keep you guys updated..

Than the cop says: "Your lucky I don't give you another ticket for those loud pipes....".
Actually, last I read, my city, Toronto has no noise by-law for Bikes:eusa_dance::punk:

Although the very last thing he said was to get a lawyer...:damn angry:

Hey another Toronto rider! :punk::clapping: I saw your last post about your paralegal friend. If that doesn't work out, out of all the "ticket places" I have used, this place was the best. They actually like fighting in court for you. They have gotten me out of all my tickets.

I was going to use em but I'm doing my buddy a favour.. plus it's 400 bones cheaper.. Thanks though,_,!!

I'm not to familiar with Canada's system, but why not just pay the ticket. Sounds like getting a para-legal is going to cost more than just paying. Are the points that big of a deal.
I get to go talk to a District Attorney on Tuesday about a cell phone ticket, but that's for a different thread.

Well the ticket is $490. But it is what comes with the ticket. Canada Drivers License system is based on a demerit point system. After so many points accumulated you can actually lose your license, albiet temporary I believe. Say you get stopped for not wearing your seat belt. That may carry a fine of 2 Demerit Points and $100. Ticket. The one I got is called a Blanket offense which translates to 6 Demerit points. Certainly one of the heaviest off the driving offenses.
It is your Insurance company that will soak you, possibly for years with such an offense. That is why it's important to have legal council. The ideal outcome would be the ticket conjure ∅points and no fine, however. Depending on the judge etc. Note then likely a lesser plea will be accepted.
Hope that helped...

Yea that helps. I didn't think of the Insurance angle. That's why I have to talk to the DA, to see about reducing the ticket I got. Certain tickets get paid to the state, and others get paid to the town. The towns here in NY will generally adjust the ticket so the town gets the best benefit.

True....for the most part when I'm driving/riding on the interstate, I usually don't go more than 10 over the limit and I stay on the right lane, unless I have to pass.

Plus with the Insurance in Ontario, they base your rate on the number of convictions for the last 3 years and number of accidents in the last 5 years. The Insurance company doesn't care what the conviction is (unless it is DUI), but 3 (or with some companies 2) convictions will either cost you huge dollars for the next 3 to 5 years or they will drop you as a customer. Once you are dropped, you are more or less forced to go with Facility Insurance, which is the company you end up with when nobody wants to insure you. Once you are with them, it is large $$ for insurance.

In Ohio you loose your liscense at 10 points. But they come off in 2 years so thats when you get it back, unless the judge give you an extra year to "think" about your mistake :bang head:
