I guess I am confused about the reason behind any of this. As far as I know his mother was a US citizen therefore wherever he was born he would have been a natural born citizen. Why would they bother forging a birth certificate and why would people be so intent on proving that it was forged?

The reason for this to be an issue right now is to deflect attention away from the Russian hacking situation. It is being made an issue by the same people that will proclaim that Obama is a Muslim. The Constitution makes it clear who is eligible to be a presidential candidate, stating that any person wishing to run must be a natural born citizen. Meaning, immigrants cannot run no matter how many years they have lived in the United States. A person is considered a natural born citizen if he or she is born abroad to American citizens. Only one of the candidate's parents has to be an American citizen for the candidate to also be considered an American citizen and be eligible to run.
There is nothing in the constitution that disqualifies a Muslim from being President but there is however the first amendment that protects people from religious persecution and guarantees the freedom of religion.
There is a lot of talk about protecting the constitution however we tend to forget what it protects when we need to something to fit in our agendas.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The timing of this is indeed very interesting. We have the intelligence community agreeing that Russia has hacked into our systems and no one mentions it, but we choose to discuss whether or not an outgoing president is really a citizen or not. Obama has been in office for 8 years with a lot of fierce and powerful opposition, if he was indeed not a US citizen I'm quite sure evidence would have come to light a long time ago. This is just another case of using misinformation to pull people away from the real story, that there is proof Russia hacked into our systems and it was supported by Trump. I find it hard to believe that the security breach of our country is less important than a story about a birth certificate of an outgoing president.

They both have a common theme. There's another thread on the forum that's had some discussion on the Russian hacking. You would never have heard this story, maybe a blurb, If I hadn't posted here. Could you explain the misinformation part? The timing is as a result of Arpaio leaving his office by the end of the year.

Well, so far we have misinformation and propaganda, in regards to this federal crime. I can only hope you will afford the same leniency and tolerance of the law, to the next Administration. It's a little off topic, but since you mentioned Russia. I can only apologize that it's fox news, but that's who did the interview. Wikileaks/Assange Said from his own mouth, the DNC and podesta Emails did not come from Russian Government. A different source said the same thing about Russian Government, and that it was a disgruntled DNC worker, that turned over the Emails. Now what. I also heard hillary say in a speech today, That it was James Comeys fault that she lost the election.

I would certainly take the word of an accused rapist/sexual assault on the run and hiding out in Ecuador over the CIA and FBI. In regards to a federal crime, what crime? Im sure if it has merit someone from the the Republican party will take this to another level. I thought we was supposed to assume innocent until proven guilty by a court of law not being assumed guilty by a sheriff on his way out of office.

The sheriff's department claims that the document was created by using photoshop to copy and paste portions of another woman's birth certificate onto it. The woman's name, Johanna Ah’nee, was born 19 days after Obama at the same hospital. The sheriff and his cronies team claim that the fact that the fonts on the two documents match each other is the absolute proof they've been looking for. Apparently the idea that the same typewriter may have been used on two different birth certificates by Hawaii’s Department of Health is not plausible and the only obvious conclusion is that Obama's certificate is fake.
The birth certificate information of Johanna Ah’nee came from author and radical right-wing conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi, the man who wrote a book about it. And there you have it, the "convincing proof" was obtained by talking to a random author who wasn't at the hospital, had no connection to the Hawaii Department of Health, and has a financial stake in pushing this lie. With that kind of stellar police investigating it is no wonder there were hundreds of botched sex crimes cases in the county.

I cant say anything for certain, who knows anymore what is fact fiction. I do have to wonder why Trump will not come out and support a full investigation of the hacking if he has nothing to hide. If Hillary would be the one accused the conservative right would demand that she be charged with treason so it is only natural that liberals demand the same. I think that we owe it to everyone in this nation to find out who did what and if there is any collaboration. I personally cannot believe that American citizens would stand behind a person who is a pawn of Putin and Russia. The money grab that Trump has going on all over the world should sound alarms. Turkey has already arrested a business partner of Trumps, Let's see if he allows the extradition of Gülen to help his business interest.

I wouldn't care if it were David duke presenting the case. The physical evidence, forensic science, and expert testimony is what proves the case. Over Simplifying the case and character assassination on the police force is a good tactic, But you need to disprove Reed Hayes http://www.reedwrite.com/ and the Forensic document team from Italy. He called them 4 labs, but I couldn't find there web site.These are the guys that did the science, determining fraud.
So, just to ask the question. If this does prove to be a forged document, In your opinion, should anything be done? What if it were Trump?

You hit the nail on the head with whats really fact or fiction. I think we choose who or what we believe base on our natural leanings of liberal to conservative, and our life experience.

My question would be which one is forged? Why is it presumed it is Obama's? I think if it turns out to be a forgery the woman in question should be jailed for forging her birth certificate. My next question would be how all of the Republicans in this country let this go for 8 years and it was a local sheriff to bring it to light? It it takes 8 years and a local sheriff to come up with a document that shows a lady's birth certificate was forged what does that say about Republicans? Does it say that for 8 years the mighty republicans in power couldn't find anything and a local sheriff does? If so that is not something to be proud of and we all know that for 8 years republicans were trying anything to discredit Obama. If Obama is smart enough to get this by Republicans for 8 years I would vote for him again in a second! There is no oversimplification because it is simple.
