Any issues with Yamaha regarding trademark by putting on the name, or using a similar font to OEM? Some manufacturers won't allow it. Don't wanna see you get into trouble.

Its very close, but very different then the factory logo.

My wife works for Patent law and they do trademarks as well. You would be surprised at how much of a minor change you can make and have it be considered a new idea.

Like having 6 flute cuts instead of 8 flute cuts, raised lettering embossing vs depth engraving. 2.7516 inches in diameter vs 2.7525 inches in diameter.

The thing a lot of people don't realize is that nothing new has been invented in a very long time. People have taken things and made intellectual improvements on previous items. So its hard to invent anything new, everything is an alteration of something already made or intellectually conceived.

I agree that new and innovative ideas are hard to come by for sure. That's why I haven't bothered to pattent any of our stuff like the hayabusa brackets. Now there are similar products out there but not a true "copy".

Im afraid this happens only in the USA. Here in EU we dont have such an EASY regulations. You cant just patent a square or rectangular just like Apple did vs Samsung...we bealive its just unapropriate.

Good job anyway - I was told you have some fabbing skills and I can see besides that you have some CAD skills. Its a good combo those days and this era design engineers are more concern about "apperance" then machinability or functionability. The never ending war beteween CAD and CAM departments.
I recall a hermetical joke about what is a worst thing that CAD engineer can do to CAM engineer - use splines...

Have you considered a locking element on these caps?
Las time I did mine(flat, without fancy pockets or engraving) caps I decieded to use a M6 countersunk screws and I drilled my newly machined SS swingarm pivots. Holds perfectly.

Short parenthesis, I don't want to mess up the thread.

No offense but the patent and trademark system you have guys is wow. I work in IT and I can tell it's freaky how things are going.
It's becoming easier to incorporate to sue others than developping new stuff.

Peace :D
