I did a search and didn't come up with anything definitive. Can you adjust/torque the swing arm pivot bolts/nuts with the rear wheel/tire on the bike? does the rear have to be off the ground? I am getting a weird feeling that seems to be coming from the rear, feels like the rear is skating around or fish tailing. I just had it apart to do solid motor mounts and sean
notched and braced the swing arm for me so I am wondering if I didn't get the swingarm pivots set right when I reassembled it.

I install it with no wheel so i can "feel" the swinging (the wheel on makes it difficult due extra weight) when torquing, just like torquing a steering stem...

I did pull it apart and reset the swingarm torque and it feels much better at speeds. I am still getting a weird feeling when I have been running at freeway speeds and then I merge off and start to slow down it feels like the bike just wants to wander all over and I am constantly correcting. once I stop and then start going again it feels fine, Is it something I am doing?

swing arm bearing are like <timken bearing> or like old car bearing in there adjustment - thighting

i did have smething like that this summer

maybe this is the same,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for you

If you haven't done so already, pop it up on the centerstand and grab the rear wheel and give it a shake side to side to see how much it moves. Might have messed up a bearing in the swingarm.

Its pretty easy to do, I've done it myself after installing my swingarm. Something didn't really feel right when I was riding it, very similar to what you are describing, then a person who was behind me told me that my tire was doing some wierd things.

Turned out when I was tightening up the pivot bolts, I screwed up one of my bearings.
