How many thoughts and prayers are enough? Every time this stuff happens I hear, "sending thoughts and prayers" and then do nothing. Maybe it is time to **** can the thoughts and prayers and have some action

Right on Dave. I don't agree with canning the thoughts and prayers, but it is time to take action. If It were my decision, The bombers and troops would already be on the way to blow the smiles off there faces and make dust out of what was know as ISIS. Same here in The US. Radical Islam has proven to be a threat, and needs to be treated as such. It aint about guns Bro.

If that is what is it is, so be it. But has it been determined what the motivation was? If it was because of it being a Gay club would you be ready to kill all the anti-gay people as well?

It's bigger than that. Were the people in France all gay. Boston marathon people gay? 911 victims? The motivation is hatred of the west, and all the "sin" that goes with it.

Pro or anti gun opinions aside for a minute.
The shooter was on a watch list of known potential threats but still had his gun licence and was able to buy mre guns days before shooting.
Surely the licence issueing/revoking situation needs looking at ?

Good point Sharky.

I think the keepers of the watch lists, no-fly lists, order of protection recipient lists....and all the other lists that exist in this country should quit being so ******* worried about offending or profiling and start 'watching' these fuckers thru steel bars!!

How many times do we hear "the FBI interviewed him...." or "an order of protection was filed....." or "he was under psychiatric care but had not exibited any....." right after something horrible happens!

They are far to busy chipping away at the rights and privacies of you and I. Expecting common sense application of all the compromised privacy and crippled rights just does not come with gov in its current iteration. Sucks but I think this has been proven again and again.

The other sad fact is there is not a damn thing he could buy legally in a gun store that he couldn't have picked up on the street. I would hate to think of the body count had he been unable to get a gun.

Both statements....absolutely correct!!

As for the body count, the 'motivated' will become more creative as the choice of weapons decrease....and the horror and body count will escalate alarmingly!

As a tool for mass murder firearms are pretty puzzling choice. Besides at no time in the foreseeable future will guns be difficult to get, regardless of legislation. We've already discussed their lack of ability to get even law abiding citizens to hand em' over. Besides the estimated 347 million guns on the street were pissing up the wrong waterfall with this one. Make all the laws you want, guns are here to stay. In this case guns are NOT the problem any more than the car he drove to the club in.

+1

My father introduced me to Milo Yiannopoulos the other day before band practice.

Here is a little vid from his trip to Orlando recently.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLqkizGtFo0

If you want to listen to him some more, and I recommend everyone does, from either political side, here is a good Q&A from Rutgers Univ. on his recent/ongoing tour 2016.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EdHTm2fORU

He is a liberal's worst nightmare, and a conservative's answer to them. Go Milo, Trump for Pres. Milo calls him "daddy"....he's great in my opinion.

Well..I would suggest it's the 'background check ' part that needs a looking at.

You really wont believe this.....BUT....I just learned today, that the FBI , is not allowed to look too deeply into 'islamic' profiles as much as they'd like, as it is considered racist profiling. Sadly this is NOT a joke. It is a directive (reportedly from obama).

I can't recall the exact term of the directive, but it's something like 'anti terror..'.something or other.
It basically means they can look into Christians / white supremacy groups etc (HHomegrown terror if you will) as much as you want, but leave the Muslims alone type of thing.

Crazy times we live in boyz.

Exactly.

I read somewhere , the 2nd worse thing that can happen is getting caught with a legal firearm in a gun-free zone...:no no no:

But the number 1 worse thing that can happen is being somewhere that you NEED a firearm and you don't have one...:shot:

Some time has passed, every time I turn on the news Orlando come up. FBI is learning much info. When he was interviewed by the FBI he claimed allegiance to two different Islamic groups that hate each other. The guy sounded confused as to who he had allegiance to. But we know he is from New York. I pissed one person off when I suggested bombing New York. Are you listening Danny? You might have the honor of being acceptable civilian collateral damage. Of course you know I jest. One person didn't like my sarcasm. Today 5 victims are being buried. One young guy who was studying to be a firefighter is being buried. His girl friend was shot in the wrist and he moved her out of a doorway and that action, saving his girl friend, got him self killed.

^I don't turn on the news. It's gonna be 121 here tomorrow- you might wanna consider moving.
