With a stock wheel the answer is yes a 140 is too big. The largest you can put on is a 120 if my memory serves me correctly, and I am sure it does.

Yeah 120 is IMO too large for the stock wheel. My front wheel is 1" larger than stock and I run a 120 on IT. Front tires need not have the extra bulge IMO.

Oh and I don't believe a 140 would fit between the forks.

Stock wheel, absolutely

I have a 130 on my Carrs and I love the little bit of extra air volume up there as compared to the 110.

Guys, thanks for the responses. I left out a crucial detail though.
I would be mounting that tire on a 18 x 4 rim running on an R1 front end.
Thanks.

I guess my question should have been how will the wider front tire effect handling?

Well as always the wider the front tire the slower responding the tire is.

I went with this tire on the front 130/70R18. Really close to stock size so speedo isnt far off.

I am really enjoying it. It corners really really well and it has a small "crown" to it that is stable when going straight but allows you to lean instantly to the sides without affecting low speed steering. Plus I didnt have to lower the fender at all, still looks stock!!!

Also the added extra air volume is nice as well, takes the edge off the road vibes and small bumps like parking lots and sidewalk edges.

Had them for almost a year now and wear pattern is good, plus they look bad *** on the bike. Have gotten more than compliment on the tires alone.

I have the 180/55ZR18 on the rear and it is performing just as well as the front. Oh and did I mention they look really good :biglaugh::biglaugh:

More weight is NEVER good when it comes to sprung and unsprung weight.

120's are a common size that most race bikes run.

If you're simply going for looks then I'm sure you'll be OK. If you want handling and faster response time a 120 would be most beneficial.
