Those washers press onto the bolt pretty tightly and can easily be overlooked....chances are there was one there and you just didn't notice it. Change it again in 1K or so and see how the magnet looks.

I just replaced my engine oil drain plug with the rear drain plug with magnet. Not sure why they don't come that way from the factory....they should.

i'm thinking of the same down the road. u happy with it so far? it fit well right? only reason i could see is the magnet sticks up too far and might hit something?

It'd have to stick up a HELL of a lot further!

I put rare earth mags on my oil filter which I remove and replace with every oil change.

You're not concerned with them coming loose and making a mess of the motor?

That washer you guys talk about changing everytime you change your oil, is that a dealer thing or is it a specific size that can be got at any hardware store?

probably any crush washer would do, the first time i changed the oil didn't have one and the guys house i was at just had a copper crush washer. as long as it fits it fits i'd imagine. i'd torque to spec as well.

however if u have a dealer close, they're only about 80 cents and should have plenty in stock.

I bought a crap ton from Ron Ayers a couple of years ago. Mondak could hook you up pretty well too.

i can measure a spare one later, someone might have better access to one tho.
