Up to date tire recomendation please

I've got an 86 with the original wheels and the Avons that are on them are too old and dry to ride...
What's the "go to" tire for mileage and comfort? I'm not interested in changing wheels so stock sizes only.

I ran metzler me 888 for many years. Plenty of grip and tire life. If I had not converted to radials I'd sill be running them.

What do you mean when you say you converted to radials?
-What tires are you using now?
-What size are you using now?
-What did you have to change to use those tires ?

To convert to radials you need to modify the existing wheels or buy a set from someone. I’m running gsxr rims with the rear reworked to accept our shaft drive. If you use the forum’s search function you will be rewarded with a lot of good information on this mod.
