I've read that using X-1R in the right proportions with engine oil and gear lube will provide for a much smoother gearbox, neutral is easier to find and the engine will probably run better. I understand this is NASA stuff. Website: www.x1r.com.

I bought the X-1R engine treatment (yellow bottle) and the bike is ready for an oil change. So...is it good enough for my '98 Vmax ? What would be the "right" proportions?

Just remember. The slipperier that the oil is the better on the hard parts. BUT, the harder it makes the clutch have to work because it runs in that same oil.

Thanks for your comments, Sean. I understand what you mean. Well, for the gear lube should be no problem. Maybe just adding a little bit to the motor oil might not affect much the clutch. If it does, I would just drain some of the oil and replace with regular oil for mixing until the clutch doesn't slip.
