Being that my Carbs are off the bike I noticed that the v-boost flanges were quite built up with crap, mostly around the rubber seals so I figured I'd pull them off and clean things up. Once I pulled all four I discovered the o-ring's that seal the flanges to the engine were caked in varnish. I carefully cleaned everything and removed all signs of crusty gas from the flanges and the o-rings and replaced the the system. My question is, was if fine to reuse the o-rings? Like I said I cleaned them very well and they didn't look damaged at all.
My second noobie question has to do with the allen bolts that hold the flanges on. Small amounts of oil came out of a couple of the bolt holes when I removed them...normal? Sorry if these are stupid questions, but bare with me over the next few months as I pull things apart to clean, repair, replace and learn. Thanks.:ummm:
