i have heard that harley used the vmax as a concept for the vrod any truth to that ?

Certainly seems to be the case. However in typical HD fashion, style won out over substance.

Great bike! Just sold my 2002 with 35,000 miles and NO trouble and never in the shop! Waiting for my new max. Needed more power.

I like V-rods - I would have one if I had the money & a big enough garage. I saw an '09 at a bike show a few weeks ago - it even had the VMAX looking air scoops on the side. I don't know if I like the rivets that were holding it on, but it sure did look like they were trying for the VMAX look. I want to be like Jay Leno & have one of EVERY bike that's even been made...:biglaugh:
