Battery died while at Daytona for bike week, charging system is working great since I was able to push start it and ride it nearly 100 miles back to its stable. Based on a quick check with a multimeter when I got back home it seems that the battery is indeed holding a charge. Had to run into the office where I am currently to support the Australian equivalent of the FAA for the evening... hate technology sometimes, having to do a massive remote software upgrade instead of going there and doing it in person! Would love to go riding in the back roads outside Melbourne again.

Back on topic, so either my starter is shot (unlikely) or I don't have any cranking amps. I will confirm in the morning by hooking the bike to my car and trying to start it that way.

Always seems to be some new adventure with an old bike!

Froze riding to work today it was 39 when I left the house then got up to 60, stopped to look at for a new textile jacket at the Honda dealer and some your kid comes out to tell me it's a nice old school bike, old school wth

Should've pulled away leaving a 15ft black mark...lol...make him think old school..

You have to admit that these bikes are kind of old school. I can't think of the last time I saw one on the road. They have also been around for 27 years. That's a good stretch.

I agree, they are a bit Old School, Think Late 60's - early 70's Muscle Cars.
But that's why I love mine, it Pure Old School Muscle. :D

Saw another one today...

Speaking of that any forum members visit bike week today on a red VMAX? I saw it getting serviced at a vendor tent near Rossmeyer HD, but no sign of its owner nearby.

Even though a well-ridden front-line 600 of today will beat a VMax, the look of the bike is iconic.

The performance is pretty-much available at any time, anywhere. How many people do you know who run triple-digit speeds everywhere? You can't do that often and hold a valid license.

Grab a handful of throttle, feel the VBoost transport you to a level of acceleration and grins every time. Feel your troubles recede along with anyone who was alongside you, in traffic.

Roll-out of the throttle, listen to the overrun of the engine, and ask yourself, "is there any 600 that can make me feel like this?"

It's like comparing Kanye West to the GFOS. No comparison.

What the hell man! Don't talk dirty like that when there's snow on the ground!
You're just making it worse!

Depends . I live in one of the smallest counties in GA. We have 8 Gen I s and 2 Gen II s in just my town , not counting my 2 Gen I s and 2 Gen I project bikes with titles .

While Chippewa county is one of the biggest geographically we have a low population density, I only know of 2 Vmax in the Eastern U.P.. Both get respect when they see them and most of the locals know of them. It helps that our local dealer used to own one and back in better financial times used to have one on the floor every year. I'm glad they are still around but the only way we would see a Vmax on the floor these days is if someone ordered one, but no one has yet. They have one older mechanic that has worked on the carbs several times with the previous owner of Redbone which I didn't have any issues with at all.

Be sure and check out my thread in "Motors", "dodged a bullet," for my latest news! Daytona, baby!

OLD School..:rofl_200: Thats fine with me. Dodge remade the Challenger and charger but is it the same as driving down the road in a 70 Challenger RT ..Nope.. chevy redid the Camaro like a old school 69 is it the same sound and feeling pulling in a parking lot with a big cam and flowmasters talking to you. nope.. I really never even look at the new cars but if a old school car pulls up or passes on the other side.. yep im looking.:punk:you cant take a 600,750 or 1000 rice rocket and make that one bike look so different like you can a max its hard to see 2 vmax's look alike unless they are bone stock thats what is so cool about them. no 2 alike:punk:

Did the fan bypass and wired a rocker switch for my vboost. Both made a world of difference, then went for a little ride, had to start lmao sitting at a stop light when three people sitting in a truck in front of me were looking around to see were the rumble was coming from the whipped there heads around like beetle juice when they realized it was my bike. Then shifted lanes and ran thru 1,2,3.

Veronica got taken away on a truck. :bang head:

The same thing happened about 4 years ago. This time a girl was turning, and I stopped behind her, waited a few seconds, and then she reversed into me. :damn angry:

Last time it happened, the bike was written off and I had to go through all stupid **** to keep her, and ended up doing a whole pile of additional work, which snowballed, and took ages.

I'm worried that I am going down the excact same road, and I want to complain, and whine, and whinge to anyone that cares.

Don't know how long this is going to take. I hate stupid **** who reverse up without looking behind them. Grrrrrrr.
