lucky you dan, pics look great. It was warming up here lots and drying off the roads but yesterday cold front came in, drop the temp and brought a dusting of snow all day:bang head:. It was too early anyways so still gotta wait for that first ride. So you liked that seat cushion? its gel i take it, where you pick it up from and how much? been looking for one that doesnt cost the same as a hole new seat.

Not gel Ro, it's several little air pillows that are interconnected in one cushion. I got it from R L Motorcycles, good folks to deal with. It's pretty pricey, $140 to the door, but it seems to work pretty well, so far.

I normally only put the liner in temps below 40 degrees, otherwise I just wear a ls tshirt and I'm good with vent in. I like how the vents allow the wind to blow across upper inner arm with the vents out in hot weather really keeps me cool for a leather jacket.
As for the tank bag I used to have a magnetic tank protector that I cut down to the size of the bag to protect the tank, but I think a clear protector would work/ look better.
What size airhawk did you get, the medium? How is the fit and feel on the bike? I was thinking about getting one for longer trips but I'll wait to hear how you like yours first.

Agreed Brian...a long sleeve shirt is all you need under these jackets, I also took out the elbow armor for a little more arm freedom and put in 50 very comfortable miles today.

Also ordered two sheets of clear shield protector for the air box covers, the tank bag has a non-scratch material on the bottom but I don't really trust that stuff and think it should have a little extra protection.

Yeah, I got the medium Airhawk, it fits the front section really well, now I have to get an extra set of straps for the other bike so I can switch it back & forth. Still playing with the inflation some to get the maximum amount of comfort, but it looks like a real worthwhile investment to me!

Back in the day I used to fit customers into specialty wheelchairs and one of the products we also sold was a Roho cushion. Roho makes the airhawk cushion and when we were fitting the patient we used a device to guage about down to 1/2" clearance between the seat and the tailbone area. If you have too much air you move all over the place like you're sitting on top of jello, not a stable feeling. The air pockets look shorter and have a larger base so I'm sure that lessens that effect somewhat. I would think on a motorcycle you would want to have that clearance even closer but still not touching the seat with your tailbone. Glad your getting some extra comfort from the new seat pad.:clapping: I'll see how my trips go this year and may buy one when I have some spare funds.
The clear sheets are a better idea than my magnetic protector idea which would let crud get under it, even with me trying to keep it clean. I finally gave up and just put the bag directly on the paint, but with my tankbag the magnets are stong enough to leave a impression in the paint. The marks go away once the bag is removed in warm temps though. I think it's more a result of my paint job rather than the fault of the bag. I had the paint work done for free by a friend in trade for some foreman work on his polebarn. Once I get most of the work done on Redbone I'll work out a nice paint job to finish it off.

well with the loonie coming up and predicted to pass the green back, might have to order up one later in the year, once it passes all of your test and gets the thumbs up ofcourse.

Yup, you're right on the closer clearance Brian....Airhawk says only enough air to keep the rider from touching the seat. I did have too much air initially and it wasn't a good feeling at all, like being in an unstable boat...felt like I was going to upend at any moment! :biglaugh:

I'll keep you posted on the clear vinyl, hope to attach it without tons of unsightly bubbles!

I will be doing extensive testing and product review on the Airhawk over the next few weeks and will, of course, pass all info on!!

I heard the loonie and the greenie were neck & neck today, has that ever happened before? :confused2:

oh ya been a long time but even passed it before. only thing is its bad for our export. only suppose to be til fall time then i guess interest rates chg and it will go back to around 97 cents, still not too bad for us. might be time to look into 4-2 exhaust...... black of course:punk:

I have managed to DESTROY the right side(as you are sitting on the bike) Supertrapp:damn angry::bang head:

Anybody got one laying around????:bang head:

Tomorrow I will reinstall the stock exhaust.......

Dang it Kyle, sorry to hear that! I don't have anything but a old used stocker, I'm sure yours is in better condition.
How'd this destruction happen? Hopefully there was no further damage to Vmax or rider!

Installed a new battery and a new set of black Pro-Taper handlebars - old handlebars will be going on the Radian project.

Fired it up and let it run until it got up to temp - can't wait to start riding!

Sean......yes I plan on contacting you in the near future....

Redbone......Bike is fine.....owner is F@#*%$#@ pissed.......

I was going to rebuild my Supertrapps and add some new pieces(Thanks Sean!!!)

I figured while I had them torn down I might just as well pull the cores and rewrap them......

Long story short......2 days.....a 2 foot prybar.......a 4 bolt puller......a 3 pound sledge hammer........a wooden dowel......a can of Fluid Film........and one bent and mangled Supertrapp later.........

The core is still firmly seated in it's home inside the outer megaphone:bang head:

It is now my personal mission to get this thing apart if it takes a Sawzall and a die grinder.......or explosives!!!!!!:eusa_dance:

Note to all Supertrapp owners.......completely disassemble them regularly......or leave them completely alone once installed........

OH ****!! Sorry to hear this Kyle! Can you still ride it?

It is still rideable.......if I put the stock ballast weight mufflers back on....which I will probably do today......

I swear you could not hold these things together any better if you WELDED them:bang head:

EDIT:

Now I know what happened........Dannymax sent his F&$%#$# MOD MONKEY up here with his welder........that explains why the 6 endcap bolts on both sides came out so easily........That evil little monkey took them apart and WELDED THE BAFFLES!!!!!!

Dan-o is good for sending his own personal hit team of Mod Monkeys to get you!!

On a good note Toxic has begun the process of trimming down to a svelt 525lbs yesterday, lost its first 8lbs. Now to get rid of the rest of the "fat", of course the rider needs to get on a diet too.....:rofl_200:

Well.......I attempted to put on my stock exhaust........but it ain't gonna go without help......It'll wait for another day:damn angry:

What a bitch... I took mine off and said NO WAY IN HELL this is going back on! :damn angry:

did about 100 miles. fun as hell. then the last 2-3 miles rear brakes started squealing like ******* crazy. tried OEM shims, rubber backings, nothings working. happens only when i initially press them or let go of them. going to try some morley special BG stuff and we'll go from there but i'm gonna kill someone if this doesn't fix it.

quick wash, then when i was sick of workin on my "project"went to go for a ride and............ nope starter clutch is cooked, guess I wait till the new one come in ,should be mid week I had my son order it last tuesday, ran great yesterday ,accidently got a third gear wheelie! I hate when that happens!

Nice easy 80 mile ride today, just a picture perfect day. Was gonna head up over the Catskills but the road I'd planned on running was concrete with those friggin' expansion joints every 4 bike lengths, so I got the hell off, ran on the super-slab for awhile, then off on some 2-lane stuff and home.
Rinsed her off (Sallymax) and did a quick detailing....just in case any salt dust snuck in anywhere!
Wife ran out and snapped this pic....wonder if she thought I wouldn't be coming back????:rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

Yeah, yeah...I know Timmy....prolly wishing......right? :rofl_200:

now THATs a pose!

fixed my rotor. used some of the special Morley stuff and it shut right the hell up. i would reocmmend ti to everyone. its a graphite/alcohol mix by BG. i'll get more info if anyone needs it or just talk to morley.

took the triple out for a 20 mile jaunt this evening too. what a fun bike. i may be buying it outright (roommate and i split it originally)
