Haven't done a damn thing to the max for quite awhile. Haven't heard much on the status of parts on order or how much it will cost to finish so I'm a little leary on spending any more max money on other mods.

I've moved on to other things to occupy my time. Got the ole CR5 up and running last weekend. Clutch is not disengaging too well these days. Decided to tear into it to check it out. The basket had some major grooves worn in. I broke out the files and took it up to the dining room table and filed it nice and smooth. That was around 12:00AM last night. :biglaugh: I lined the table with some rags to keep momma happy and the table clean. Gonna put it back together some time this weekend and give it another go.

Also decided to tear into a PW80 I've had sitting around for awhile. I got it for free. When I picked it up, it was sitting outside for a year with the engine torn apart and most, not all of it, in some boxes. Never thought I would fix it but found a great deal on parts on fleabay. I will try to bring that thing back to life. Not sure if I'm going to put the kids on it or sell for profit?? Not that I'd make much off of it. Not sure if I'll get it running!

I worked on fixing a turnsignal lens that was cracked/ broken during install. That proved to be less than great so I asked for help and this forum came through with help in short order!:worthy:
On the other hand the weather is turning cold just as I'm getting Redbone roadworthy.:damn angry: I'm going to have to brave the cold though to get some more fresh fuel . I'm sure I won't even feel if it's 40 degrees out!:punk:

I washed it up again. Got it dirty the first tine with a couple of rain rides. then I cleaned her up then went out then it started snowing. the snow fell but the roads remained wet so I had to wash her up again.

Now all freashly washed and waxed, ready to take me to my phlebotomy class tonight :)

Cleaned all the bugs and road grime off after the Pittsburgh run last Friday. Hopefully tomorrow I can get enough time to pull the spark plugs and see how shes running.

Brought my buffer home from work & buffed the airbox cover. Then I took apart my t/s switch - it's been sticky since I got caught in the last rainstorm. I lubed it up with CorrosionX & holy $hit does it work smooth now. And the indicator is now blinding me ! Last year or so I took apart every single connector on the bike & packed them with di-electric grease - cured a couple of problems. The bike had lived out in the weather until I bought it. Now I think I'll pull them all apart again & give a little squirt of CorrosionX into every connector. That $hit worked miracles when cleaning some old guns, & now I think the 'MAX deserves the same treatment. I don't know if that stuff is available to the public - I "borrowed" a bottle from work. If you ever run across a bottle, give it a try.

DAMMIT - I sound like a freakin' salesman...:rofl_200:

took of one of my exhaust end caps and re-riveted it on. replaced a rivet on another one. washed her as well. still weaping oil out of my valve cover gaskets, anyone else ever see that?

Finally finished wiring up the new control and lights I made from a scoop that I got from auto zone and rewiring the harness on the bike (from the old cluster and now I am waiting for my marks pipes and the muscle jet kit from sean and in the meantime I`m going to fabricate the tank cover to fit the scoop properly.

I had weeping gaskets on mine but they were the original (I believe) I had them changed when Sean worked his magic on my motor. You could see the cracks in the gasket but it wasn't leaking very badly.

i really like it dave, now what are you going to use all the controls for?

nah mine aren't either, never like 'leaking' just weaping. hadn't washed the bike in a month and nothing was more than 1/8" around except one part was maybe an 1" of oil visible...

It sounds like your are weeping less than mine were as all 4 were showing a little "dampness" and no amount of tightening resolved the issue.

yea replacing those gaskets is not a 5 minute job so i may wait until after this season and do the valves while i'm at it. i may try to persuade someone who's done them before out here to help me out with beer.

It's a pain on mine to leave the engine in (even more so) just b/c i'll have to remove my frame braces, knee guards, etc etc. bolt ons are cool but man do they make maintenance a pain in the ass....

i'm not gonna worry about it for now. You know i tried tightening them but they wouldn't move (didn't put too much pressure on them). how did u try to tighten them? not a lot of room there.

I just tried the outside ones and you're right they were on there tight as I remember. I did't get much movement and when I saw what it would probably take to get the others I stopped. I had already stripped on bolt on poor 'ol Redbone's engine so I decided that I would deal with it this past winter. I kinda went overboard, but I am really happy now that I have the motor back from Sean and it is better than new!
I did some electrical stuff and fixing a too long of a breather hose (that hooks onto the airbox) that was being pinched. I started Redbone up afterwards just to listen to the sweet sounds. I may have to do some minor tuning after seeing how it running on fresh fuel but I am more than pleased right now. :thumbs up: :thumbs up:

gotcha i believe the recommended torque is tiny, like 10 ft lbs or something.

The switches are L-R ::Headlight, man. fan, T-Boost, instrument lights and alarm tracer light that sweeps back and forth.

I ordered 4 mini turn signals so I can get rid of the stock clunky ones.
Ordered an new plate that says "2NADZ".
pending parts:
Bitch bar
new pipes
mirrors
new paint "don't like the metal flake black instead just a deep black"
this will keep me for the summer:clapping:

got my blacked out swingarm covers from garrett, man they look awesome :punk:. Think i will put them on V1 here and if i like it I'll have to get you to make another set for V2. Will post pics later tonight, as i just got the bike fired up, cleared a path to get it out of the garage and now going riding. :punk:

went to the bank today and got the treasurer's check for tom at COO! payment for my friend jim rodgers' wheels. funds he needs to convert toxic to chaindrive. he gave me a hell of a deal on his old wheels and i couldnt pass them up! they're one of the higher end items left on the wish list, which is quickly dwindling down to a bunch of scratched out parts. i figured if the bike was one of the reasons the ole lady left me-what better way to say fuck you than to spend a ton of money on it and get it done. to be absolutely honest spending that money made me feel better than i have in about 2 months. gotta get the knee guards i got from garrett on and the new headlight as well. i'm also sending tom my extra braced swingarm to be notched and powdercoated as well as my extra final drive-once i figure out how to get it apart lol. once i get it all back i'll post up pics of 2010's version of CLIMAX. she's gonna look sick with new shoes. good thing this apartment came with use of the gararge-got all 4 bikes in there right now.

later odieoh24
