Anybody ever see the movie "Dave" with Kevin Kline? I wish there were a way to have someone go into office and set things straight for real. We have armed forces to keep up to date and trained. We have an infastructure to keep in good repair. We have families that are down and out that need help in finding new work, not free money. I wish I was smart enough to figure out how to do this but alas, I am not. Seems to me that the problem is that neither are our leaders! You hear the stories of $1K toilet seats and $500 hammers, etc. You hear how GM gets bail out cash but the A-holes who ran it into the ground still get their mulit-millions in pay each year and how union auto workers can retire on full pension at age 48. No wonder they're failing in business. They feel that cutting operating costs means cutting factory workers. Then make the rest pick up the slack. How many factory workers can be kept if you take a 90% paycut and pay yourself only $1 mill/year instead of $11M+? If they are making $50K/yr then it would be about 200. Taxpayers foot the bill for far too much in my opinion. There are agencies to run an agency in charge of an association in charge of an agency to do something. WTF.
How much money do you think the Gov't gets from F'in v-maxers paying speeding tickets. Drunks paying dui's. $300 for parking in a handicapp spot. Taxes, donations, taxes, taxes, F'in taxes. WTF.
The gov't should be like a small company. Every $ that comes in is accounted for. It shows who it come from, when, and why.
Every bill detailed. What it is exactly that we are paying, why, and how much/unit.
Every CENT spent accounted for. To Whom, for what, why, how much/unit.
We use QB at work. It is linked to all our invoices and checking acc't. All our receipts for item's purchased are filed by vender for each month and correspond with our QB software. We got audited this year. The auditor was here for about 2 hrs and asked to see some things. We open up QB, grab the files and say here you go, have at it. All in black and white for everyone to see.
I'm ranting and making no sense. It just pisses me off that the gov't is so huge that it trips over itself to get anything done. It has become it's own entity to serve itself over it's people.
Why do people spend MILLIONS of their own dollars to get a job that pays $200K/year? Or was it $250K? Whatever.
Why does it seem that everyone who comes out of office never has to really work again but yet they still have entourages and a lifestyle that most of us could never imagine. If American politicians are not blatantly wasting BILLIONS of taxpayer $'s each and every year then what exactly are they doing with all this money?
The sad part is NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH.
OK here a perfect example. We were working in a very fancy establishment call Bedford Springs Resort. It is in PA and pretty secluded. It has a private golf retreat. This place books itself as a luxery resort. I was meeting with the operations manager to discuss our installation at the facility. During our talks I asked how much for a "nice" room. He said they have presidental suites that run upwards of $2-4,000/NIGHT. I asked who in the hell rents these kinds of rooms. He says I'd be surprised but there are alot of people who do get those rooms. Quite often it will be a judge or senator he said. He went on to say how a few weeks beforehand there was a small meeting there of a few members of the state court. They had rented such a room for a long weekend and made use of the catering services, etc. Who do you think paid for this shit.
