So I watch the TV show "What would you do?". And it made me think.... what would you do?

Scenario one.

You are riding down the highway, a guy in a bike truck is weaving in and out of traffic. He isn't cutting people off, well maybe not badly, but not giving as much room as you might. He could possibly cause an accident, but mostly likely not. He is just driving a little aggressive. He has come past you, he did not change lanes in front of you, but the next guy he does.

What would you do?

Now I am going to wait a day and then post some other ideas on this same scenario and see how some of your answers may be affected.

So lets keep it to what you would honestly do. Lets not add , if he did this, or if he did that. Lets keep it to exactly what I posted above.

That's just a normal traffic situation...at least around here it is...that's acually mild compared to some of the real ******* moves I've seen...

Think he meant big truck, I would think to myself "what an *******" and continue on my way and actually not do anything, probably forget about it within a couple miles anyway.

Nothing. Its beyond normal most places.

And if you meant big truck, SUPER normal now that a large section of the truck driving population has been taken over by undertrained, underpaid, under skilled "professionals".

The whole idea of professional truck driver has taken a hike. Pay attention and look. Most of them probably can't even speak English anymore.

Its a damn shame, when I was growing up truck drivers were professionals through and through. Best drivers on the road.

Yes big truck sorry typing from my phone.

So it sounds like most of you are city folk..... lol

So lets make it he was driving a lot more dangerous. Driving like this isn't normal by me.

So he is driving dangerously. Verge of reckless I guess.

What would you do?

Keep my distance and let him continue to put distance between me and him.

But now your story is changing.....

I would keep enough distance between us not to get clouted by his erratic behavior and when the opportunity arises like at a stop light, I'm sure I would give a two fingered salute as in a FU salute.

The real question is

"What COULD you do?"

The answer is still "Nothing", other than the possibility of calling the cops.....

....Nothing that would not either escalate the situation at minimum or put you on the wrong side of the law at worst case.

I have called the cops more than once on DWI's drivers, going so far as to stay with the car while on the phone with dispatch and updating them on location until they get there.

Thinking you are going to correct an ******** behavior with an "I'll show him attitude" is ALWAYS a futile pursuit. You might get momentary results but they will be only that; momentary, sufficing only to make you feel better but effecting no lasting result.

Its right up there with carrying a grudge in that its like taking poison hoping the other guy dies from it.

Or you could just angrily flash your lights at him like these candy ***** out in Cali.

Haha!

I'd never seen that before anywhere else and I've been all over. Might as well hang a limp wrist out the window, wag your finger at 'em, an yell "stop it" with a Liberace like lisp.

ok, he's already travelling faster then you. so temporarily slow down a bit to allow more rapid spacing. then you can resume your previous speed which is still less then him so the distance will keep gaining. This gives you time to observe him and determine if more action like calling the police is needed. If you decide to call, you can match speed if its not excessive while keeping a safe gap between you and then call police.

it should go as unneeded to mention, but of course you are always looking around you for escape paths and other traffic to make sure what your options are in case an emergency evasion is needed.
