Just redid my backrest. Started with "aircraft remover" to get the oem clearcoat off that was pitted BAD... (86') hit it with 320, 600, 1,000 and then polished it with "PDQ" alu. polish sold at the local truck stop used for Alcoa alu. rims. Came out TOO shinny and knocked it down a bit with some 1,600 and slammed 2 coats of "WHEEL-CLEAR" made by "DUPLI-COLOR" at Autozone @ $4 a can. Drys in 15-20 mins. = 2 coats in an hour and back on the scoot. Simple & cost effictive !
