I always keep a cooler in my vehicles for getting cold goods home in the summer and keeping stuff from freezing in the winter. I used two small soft sided coolers in a nylon duffle (with other stuff) for carrying beer in one and brats in the other which was carried in a open sled which ended up covered with snow. Beer/ and brats were unfrozen while my buddy's (From Indiana) beer he carried in a open bucket were mostly frozen, probably saved by the 2" of snow on top from the ride out.
I rode my buddy's Yamaha 1000 4 stroke sled which has the R1 motor in it, which is pretty quick but heavy. I grew up on air cooled sleds that could go through deep powdery snow but this thing was in no way set up for anything other than groomed trails. It needed a longer track and deeper lugged paddle track as evidenced by us getting stuck a couple times in the hip deep snow. It was lots of fun riding it though!
