Always wanted to do something about that brake light, but havent seen anything that looks clean enough.

Looks awesome!:worthy:Mine are ebay specials. I scuffed the chrome with red scotch brite, wiped it off with reducer, scuffed again, cleaned with an amonia based window cleaner, then hit them with an adheasion promoter, then black paint.
I've done a few bumpers, rims and other chrome pieces for some friends using this method. I haven't had any problem with loosing paint from the chrome.
No chips, no flaking, still look great, IMO
