No i know...ones a custum aluminum deal with tons of extra stuff included and the other isnt.

As well that vtx unit appears to need no second ujoint.. but sheesh...its under 600 bucks

Where can ya get a swing arm for the max that can hold a 240, with out the extra ujoint, for 599?

Remember that the VTX comes with a large radial tire from the factory so going to a 240 isn't as big of a jump as going from a 150 to a 240 which means it can be done much cheaper.:confused2:

Also Honda has probably sold more VTXs in 2007 than Yamaha has sold V-Max's since the year 2000. Higher demand usually means competition amongst aftermarketeers and higher volume production. which equals lower prices. There are quite a lot of parts available for the V-Max (compared to many older jap cruisers, not the Busa though!), but usually only a handful (or just one!) of manufacturers that can pick their own price. I would say that is the ONLY benefit to riding a HURLey.
