Read it a few times over the years. Good book.
If you end up enjoying it then I HIGHLY suggest picking up any of the NON-FICTION various essays by Robert James Waller of "Bridges of Madison County" Fame.
His fiction work is a little sappy, (Ok, a lot sappy, but I like it)
But his non-fiction essays are extremely good and in my mind qualify as very good relatable modern day philosophy.

"Old Songs in a New Café"
"The Summer Nights Never End...Until They Do: Life, Liberty, and the Lure of the Short-Run"
He's a motorcycle guy too, which doesn't hurt...
