Another rear tire option is Pirelli Corsa 180/60/17 which has nearly identical diameter as stock rear tire. Note this absolutely would not clear my stock swingarm even with washer swap however this is on a 6" Kosman rim, maybe on a 5.5" rim it might have cleared.

Nice ride Josh! Good to see some other guys with 500s on this site too. I just got one this summer built on a 2006 cr250 frame, still getting it sorted out jetting wise. They sure vibrate in the aluminum frame make sure you stay on top of all bolts and torques.

Thanks for the comments folks - I attached before and after pics of this wheel. Maybe should have gone semi-gloss instead of matte black but I think it looks decent and should hide dirt & brake dust. This is a Kosman weldup 17x6 with polished lip and I"ll be running a 180/60/17 Pirelli tire on...

If the switch has 3 positions it's probably T-boost as mentioned above, my VMax came with similar setup. Center position VBoost Off, rear position VBoost in at 6k (stock), forward position VBoost in at 3k.

Sounds similar to "Smart Engine" malware I had to deal with last year, what a PITA. Embeds itself quietly and over time starts slowing the computer down then starts sending what appear to be Windows error messages but they lead you to their website where you send them $ to fix the problem...

I'm getting a VMax rear wheel powdercoated and want to confirm if the rubber "cush-drive" inserts will survive the de-gas and curing temperatures? I'm pretty sure someone on here was saying they'll be fine but just want to confirm before taking the wheel in.

Maybe gamorg02 has 18" rim not 17"? Generally I thought a 190 on a 17" rim will clear a notched swingarm w/o washer swap but not so much with a 18" rim.

^ agree with the VBoost comment, your "before" and "after" descriptions sound exactly like how my bike runs with VBoost forced on at low RPM versus coming on only at 6k+ rpm like stock configuration.
