need your help with an oil weep

I finally got that custom clutch rod seal holder from PCW racing installed. It didn't help my leak at all. This is an old post so to review I have a small oil leak on my 2003 VMax. It appears to be coming from the clutch slave cylinder area. I installed a new complete slave cylinder rebuild kit...

Ok, thanks. Do you have a part number for the plate you ordered? My clutch rod seal was not pushed out when I checked it both times, but I may try the plate if it works for you.

need your help with an oil weep

The seal that goes around the clutch rod came with the rebuild kits that I bought. So I also changed that seal twice. Is this the seal you are getting from PCW? If it fixes your leak, I will definitely want to get the part number from you. My bike is in really good condition and I would love to...

need your help with an oil weep

When I first started trying to find the source of my oil leak, I noticed the outer seal on the slave cylinder seal was blown out (see attached) which was in the general area where the leak was coming from. I rebuilt the slave cylinder with all new seals. It still leaked, but the outer seal was...

I installed another seal kit for my clutch slave cyl. I also put some Quick Steel on the area to the rear of the slave cyl where it lookied like it was leaking. I am still getting a small oil leak. Some shows on the left exhaust at the front end of the chrome piece just before it goes under the...

V4bandit, what brand/type epoxy did you use? Did you have to sand the area down first?

need your help with an oil weep

No, I haven't touched the shift lever seal. The leak is up higher and to the front of that. The seals I replaced were the one that goes around the outer diameter of the clutch slave cylinder and the seal for the clutch rod, all came in the rebuild kit. After reinstalling all of that, I still...

Are you talking about the small seal that goes around the clutch shaft? I installed a clutch cyl rebuild kit which came with this clutch shaft seal.

I'm gonna check to see if mine is leaking there, too. If it is, I may see if I can sand the area and put some Quick Steel on it. Do you need to drain the oil to take the middle gear cover off?

SlowBox, where did you get the taillight for your bike? That looks sweet!

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Tried to find source of small oil leak. It is coming from the area above the neutral switch, left side of bike, behind middle gear cover. I thought it may be the seals on my clutch slave cylinder since there was a drop of oil on the bottom allen bolt, but not nothing above that point. There is...

need your help with an oil weep

Did you ever find the source of your oil leak? Sounds like the same leak I have. I bought and installed a rebuild kit for my clutch slave cylinder which included the piston seal, the outer dust seal, the seal for the clutch rod, and new spring.. I also installed a new middle gear cover gasket...

I bought a rebuild kit for the clutch slave cylinder, got that installed, and I still have a leak somewhere in that area. It's got me stumped.

    VMAX purchase price list

2003, 14,000 miles, painted peral white, not a scratch or bit of rust anywhere, paid $4,000. There are cheaper ones out there, but I'm usually willing to pay more for something that has been taken care of. Has windshield, sissy bar, engine protectors, T-Boost, steering stabilizer, clear lenses...

    Oil leak

I think I found where it is leaking, see attached image. I'm not sure what it is, but looking in the Haynes manual, page 2-33, I think it is callled the clutch release cylinder?? It is right above the neutral switch. You can see the rubber gasket appears to not be seated correctly. Looks like I...

    Oil leak

It doesn't appear to be coming from the stator grommet, very dry in that area.

    Oil leak

I read somewhere that the engine has to be removed to change the clutch push rod seal. Is that right?
