    Over Racing 4-2-1 system

As far as carburation is concerned the current set up is stock with no changes made to air filter set-up. Have made 2 trips out of 100k and the pipes show a golden hue on the rears but fronts no problem. Performance is a little better all round and no hesitation, crackling or popping, plug...

    Over Racing 4-2-1 system

Definately agree the look is much better as well as the sound, my garage has a tin roof so plenty of ressonance but no parget!!!!!. I Like the extra decibels as you can't rely on people seeing you on the roads over here, so many drivers don't recognise a big bike and they expect all 125's to get...

    Trouble Re-Installing Kerker Header

Are you talking about the rear pipes, they can be tricky to line up. Have the gaskets moved off their seats or have you fitted new ones? Either way if you put a dab of grease on the gasket before putting back in it helps them stay in place whilst you install the pipes. Hope this helps

    Over Racing 4-2-1 system

Just could not wait to mod this can so had a spare hour today and had at it. I hope my amateurish video gives an idea how simple this was. Cost of mod 20baht for welding (65cents) and the same for a pack of 50 rivits - 40baht in total ($1.30) Didn't bore with riviting back together as thought...

    Over Racing 4-2-1 system

Thanks for the kind words guys, the new price from Japan is currentley €1394.00 (vat excluded) thats $1850 + Vat so yes it was a bargain. I was fortunate that here in Thailand a lot of stuff comes over from Japan and the V-max has a good following here. The guy I bought it off got his bike from...

    Over Racing 4-2-1 system

Was lucky enought to find a barely used Over Racing Stainless Steel and Carbon Can system for 8,000 baht ($260) so set about fitting to the old girl, (the mother in law said she would not wear it so had to fit it to the bike instead). After spending 2 hours in the garage with temp in the 40c...

    Brake conversion on the way

This is a good conversion for the Max and hauls up the weight better than stock set-up, my 91 did have spungy feel as the stock hoses were expanding so stainless lines are ordered and should help further improve braking responce. Good luck with your mods and I am sure there are lots of people on...

    COP's fitted on 91 Max

Thanks for the welcome bazwell. No I'm not Thai just a Brit taking early retirement in the Land of Smiles (my initials are MMP hence phonetic emempee handle). There are quite a few V-Max's over here but mainly Japanese 85bhp spec, it's more difficult to find full power US or Canadian spec and...

COP harness question, and a special thank you.

Fitted mine last week using harness of R6 which came with the COP's. Cut off the multiplug connector and stipped the harness down so the 4 COP connectors had just their 2 wires 10" long which gave plenty of slack for routing with to much excess. I used 4 new Sumitomo LOCK Type .250" Connectors...

Easy Fork Dissasembley Tool cost 2$

I had noted on previous posts the differences in damper assembley designs and I agree, seems unusual for Yamaha to have changed the design for newer models without updating their special tools list. Glad your sharpened pencil worked, once you removed the damper assembley was there any...

    COP's fitted on 91 Max

Was lucky enough to bid & buy off Fleebay a set of 07 R6 Mitsibushi COP's with wiring harness for ?15 including shipping ($24). These are the short coil sticks and make removal easy if you need to get to a plug. Bought from Eastern Beaver the plug end Sumitomo LOCK Type .250" Connectors to make...

Easy Fork Dissasembley Tool cost 2$

Just done my fork seals and bushes on a 91, my lower allen bolts would not budge with forks in the tripple tree or out, then one turned and I thought my luck was in but the damper just turned with it. Read here on the forum several quick home made tool options for holding the internal damper...

Tokico 6 pots and Wave Disc's

Having got my Max in August I had been waiting for parts to arrive before I could sort front end braking. Sean the man Morely sent me some adaptors for the six pot conversion and a rear adaptor to fit stock caliper with the larger Wavey disc. My old girl is a 91 model and was in serious need of...

Are you a new member? Come here and say hi!

Re: Newbie from Thailand Thanks Palulukan for the welcome and advice / support, I have 07 R6 COP's with harness arriving in a day or two off Fl**bay at ?15 inc shipping ($22) so just have to source some resistors from Maplins, any size recomendations for these? Also the monkey has caught me and...

Re: Newbie from Thailand Hi all, I'm a Brit now retired and living in Thailand. First off let me congratulate all involved in making this a great site for v-maxers, I have spent hours reading great posts and blogs which helped me in making my purchase decision. I was looking for a big bike to...
