My two babes... Yeti and Grizzly

Nice bikes dude! Hey, just a stupid little tip you might not know... Go to Oriellys, and buy a can of "bumper black". Its a plastic and vinyl TINT. NOT PAINT, TINT. It soaks in and tints almost all polymer based products. I use it on all my motorcycle seats. The V-max seats always fade to three...

Is there a write up on how to remove the springs from front forks????

Gotcha Gotcha... Why would you want stiffer front suspension? I personally like mine SOFT in front. When I brake hard I like most the weight of the bike to roll onto that front tire for better traction..... Here are a couple pics. You can tell the ride height in the rear is far from stock. You...

Is there a write up on how to remove the springs from front forks????

Correct me if I am wrong, but a "progressive" spring is just that. "Progressive". It will be very soft at first and as the coils get tighter, it stiffens up, vs. a constant rate spring like mine. This would actually make the first amount of suspension travel on your progressive, SOFTER then my...

Is there a write up on how to remove the springs from front forks????

Your progressive springs where prob also 2" lowering springs which would have been the same fender clearance as dropping the forks 2" like I did. My front fender has been trimmed 3/4" and even under the hardest braking does not touch the radiator and I think the radiator covers look horrible, so...

Is there a write up on how to remove the springs from front forks????

They are progressive adjustable shocks that were on the bike when I bought it. I like the low center of gravity, and the stiffer feel. Just want the front to match a little better which it does now. They may be more like 2" lowing springs in the back, I dont have another bike to compare it to to...

Is there a write up on how to remove the springs from front forks????

Yeah, I realized that cutting the springs was not an option.... :bang head: I ended up taking the lazy man route. I just slide the triple tree 2" down on the forks. Seems like that work pretty good and gave me the affect I was going for. The bike has been lowered 3" in the rear, so it needed...

Is there a write up on how to remove the springs from front forks????

I am thinking about lowering the front of my bike. I was thinking about just removing the springs and cutting a couple inches off. If I ruin them then oh well, I will just buy a set of progressive lowering springs, so I will have nothing to lose if I screw it up. I really dont know squat about...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

The big tubes(velocity stacks) are the intake tubes for the flatslide carbs the bike has. It does not have stock carbs and intakes air right in the side through the stacks. I wish I could tell you something on the bars... They were on the bike when I bought it. I will tell you that I LOVE the...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Installed my LED fleabay tail light and license plate bracket today. Looks a WORLD better then that 70's style tractor like jeepish tail light these things come with, plus saves some weight and exposes about 4" more of my Avon :punk:....

    Would you say..

I have the vgas system and I am sure it used different boots, but at least on my bike, the carb boots are made to only fit on one way. There is a carb side of the boot and a manifold side of the boot. One side has a SLIGHTLY smaller ridge inside that is spaced different, and will do the exact...

Tuning my VGAS and Dyna 3000 on my new VMAX

Making the mold would have been the time consuming part, but once that was done, I imagine they are pretty easy and cheap to make. Jon has treated me really good though. He is talented and comes out with some great products and has superb customer service. I have called him way past business...

Tuning my VGAS and Dyna 3000 on my new VMAX

Badazz for sure! I would love to have those and in many ways I like them better, but the bike already came with stacks, I love the "open" look, even with the bonnets on it, and I am nt about to shell out that much money for the scoops(although I dont doubt they are worth it, I'm just a poor...
