What is the best interval (miles) to change my oil? Moderate driving.

Noticed this morning that my fork oil seems to be leaking from the left fork by the rubber gasket near the brace. My main question is how urgent of a problem is this? Can I just ignore it for now and get to it eventually without doing any damage?

guys more poor baby just hit 10k miles. i went into my garage yesterday and saw oil near the kick stand. i think it is coming from the shifter seal. is that common and how hard is it to replace? any other ideas on where that is coming from would be great. Thanks, Sid
