That VMOA ice breaker sounds like a good time. Do I need to be a member to go? What was the date & time of the event? I?d like to go.

No, everyone's welcome. We even get some non vmax's show up. Of course it is a VMOA event hosted by the VP. I think it's June 4,5,6th this year. I'll confirm the date with Jim.

I also found these pipes. They are made by Fokker and apparently were sold by Yamaha as a factory upgrade. I think they look great and have a built in crossover and they claim a 12.6 hp gain over stock. Judging by the video I think they are on the quiet side. You?ll also notice that when viewing these pipes from the side they appear to be misaligned which is kind of unsightly. They are slip ons and the price is outrageous. $1700 If it weren?t for the price tag I may have considered buying these.

12.6hp over stock sounds like some other vmax sellers claims... NO WAY!!! Slip-ons WILL NOT give you that sort of increase. The headers have to be replaced to get even close to that.

Slip-ons are more for sound/weight than for performance...

Yea I figure that 12.6hp was a overly high figure. I wouldn't be surprised if it atleast keeps the stock hp rating or maybe gain a couple. Which would be better than loosing hp with the cobras. It has a crossover so it shouldn't loose any hp. However the price is really high for just slip ons. I can't image they sell very many.

Yeah and IMO the sound sucked...

Here's mine recorded with nothing more then my old iPhone 3Gs. They're Marks.

I just installed the Cobras on my 06. I really like the look and the sound but I did notice some HP loss. Not that concerned about that however. Im more into the look & the sound... being an old guy all. LOL

I like the look of those sidewinders, nice looking pipes. I found one sound clip of them on youtube. I guess they sound decent but it?s always hard to tell on the videos since different cameras will make the bike sound different. Does anyone have any more info on them or know about hp gains? I did a search on the exhaust forum but it doesn?t appear that anyone here is running them. It looks as though they have a cross over built in which should help with the power but it?s hard to tell.

I found this clip when I started searching, and I was sold on them.
There is not as much info on them, and I was worried they would lose some scavenging due to their design. I ended up with a Marks system because I knew that they made good power.

This video was taken by a member here, and he thinks they are great! I quite like his bike, check out his pics. (Actually I want his back wheel...) http://www.vmaxforum.net/member.php?u=500 (A

was wondering about the hindle design, is it 4-2-1 or 4-1? and when you talk of the old hindle being bigger, how big are the headers? hmf made me an awesome 1 off for my z1000 (stainless pipes, powercomander5, dynotuned, all for $1200) cant beat that! anyway was thinking having them make me a hindle-style system. anyone have a picture of hindle vmax pipe?
