I have had my permit for about 10 years and I am also an instructor here in Iowa teaching the classes for the permit to carry...I have never needed it either..although once I did draw down on a neighbors pit bull that was in my yard and growling intently...also feel better to have and not need than the other way around. I have a couple Kimber 1911 pistols a full size with heinie sights that I carry in a custom leather holster made for me by a guy named Jerry Davis in Phoenix AZ...nice rig and didn't hurt the wallet either...the compact is a custom job that also resides in the leather usually weather permitting on both obviously. I have recently started to carry a Smith M&P in 9mm I also have a SIG P250 I would like to carry but getting a decent rig for it is easier said than done...not many decent holsters for it yet oddly, or at least nothing I would want...I intend to get something more compact here in short order, either an LCP from ruger or one of the smaller Kahr pistols...the .380 or .38 you have with you is better than the .45 you left in the safe...

Well I wasn't gonna post gun porn...but others did it and I am a follower...the full size has fixed Heinie sights instead of adjustables now though...guess I need new pics

Vmax AND guns?! Man, this is certainly the place for me. Grew up around guns, gun nuts and hunting in South Texas, and while I always enjoyed them, I never really felt naked without one. Till I moved to Alaska.

I live on a semi-private lake I share with a local guide and float plane addict. My summer morning routine is to get up early and bike, jog, or if it is warm enough go down to the lake and race around on my kayak. One day I slid back the curtain on the sliding door to find a truly huge Kodiak sitting on my porch with his nose buried in my BBQ pit. In tx the most I really had to worry about was rattle snakes, and this being where it is, it isn't unusual to see a moose or two on the roadside or tramping across your yard on any given day. This bear was an entirely different matter! I slid the curtain back into place, crawled in to bed and called in scared.

Later that afternoon, I called up one of the guys I work with and asked Him if he could make some recommendation to deal with my pest problem. Being so low key a guy and really only getting animated about hunting I figured He would be the one to talk too. Little did I know He was a former member to TWO different branches of the Military, serving in TWO different versions of the special forces! He tells me he can help me out, in fact, he as the perfect gun for me and he was looking to sell it so he can pay for some more hunting gear.

I now have a Benelli M4 resting near the back door and my concealed carry is an Kimber eclipse custom loaded with 10mm. Most of the time I'm pretty strait laced kinda fellow, but when I'm down at the range I have to admit to a giddy feeling after firing off a box out of either of these bad boys. Box being about all I can get away with before my hand or shoulder or wallet start to put a damper on things.

Oh also, seems my grand dad's estimation of me rose with this acquisition in direct relation to how much it fell when He saw me for the first time on the Vmax(he being a die hard Goldwing rider).

Yes I have concealed permit. I carry all the time. Never know when needed these days. I have a FNP 9 and a FNP 40. I carry a S&W bodyguard with me. Oh by the way I had a Taurus TCP 380. Had nothing but trouble with Jams constantly. Sent off for repair and still problems. Got rid of it.

Bought an AMD 380 years ago.It was small and stainless steel, good for an ankle holster. It always jammed though, sent it back, ramp reground, still jammed.
Carried a Browning HP in a inside the pants holster for work and defense purposes. Not light but narrow. Could not MAKE this gun jam. Super reliable, held 14 +1 with custom clip. Black Talons were good 9 mm ammo then. Now banned. No longer carry. Have flare gun and fire extinguisher for home protection now.

It tain't the best pic... I started packing a Rom Tok 7.62x25 off and on . I usually carry the 111. But even though the Tok is longer (and uglier), it's thinner. Has a better wallop than the 9, for sure. Wish the CZ52 had a smaller frame. I really enjoy my 52's but just too big to pack around.

Thank you! Wish all lawmen said that. A couple years ago, before I was heading to mid Ks, I was talking to a friend of mine on the phone, who be a sheriff. I told him I was riding a new Max and asked if he wouldn't hand me ticket. He said he wouldn't but couldn't promise his deputies wouldn't.
