Confusing Carburetor Sync Problem?

Hey everyone, Im quite confused about a carb sync problem I've been having with my 94 v-max. I run my bike for about 5 mins then sink up carb number 1 with carb number 2 and all seems okay. However, when I try to sync carb number 3 with 4, the engine starts to drop from 1000 rpm and dies before the needle of carb 3 can sync up with carb number 4.

Any advice or solution would be greatly appreciated, thanks. :ummm:

for sure you are setting 3 to 4 and not 1,2 to 3,4. how far off was it before it died and or how many turns di dyou give it when it died? the sync screws unless carbs really been played with dont go super extreme on the screws just fine tuning.......what are you using for carb sync gauge?

Be sure to know which carb is which and which screw does what.

After that just keep playing with it.

It's not uncommon to have to play with the idle adjustment while synching.
