Thought I would start a new thread cause old ones get boring to read through.
I sealed my gas tank recently because of surface rust, I followed a sticky I found here to get the tank out which involves removing the exhaust mufflers. I had to take the tank out again today because I was to lazy to change the Oring that seals the fuel gauge at the bottom of the tank. It leaked fuel everywhere so I decided to replace the Oring without removing the tank, then I snapped the bolt that holds in the fuel gauge so then I had to take out the tank:bang head:.
Anyway the good thing that came out of the whole drama was I found it easier to get the tank out without having to take off the mufflers. The rear wheel is easy to get off and I also had to take out the battery and the part of the frame with the RR on it. I think it is easier this way.
PS: got the snapped bolt out with a screw extractor. Praise the Lordunk:
PPS does anyone know which way the the Tapered spacer between the wheel bearing and the Brake assy faces(Taper toward bearing or away from?)
Cheers Lads
