This is why you don't screw around with the venting pop-offs on your bottles.
When the bottles get hot, venting is a good thing, not to mention loosing a tank full of nitrous is still cheaper than what happened to this guys ride.

I had two Fox-bodied 5.0's & considered them much more fun to drive than the two Trans-Ams (400 Pontiacs, both of them) or the Z28 I also owned.

I'm pretty sure this is why shooting NOS on the street is illegal. They don't want idiots improperly installing their NOS kits and injuring people like so.

Nitrous is plenty safe when you use it as designed. When you start messing with bottles to gain higher pressures then you get this kind of shit waiting to happen.
