How much money have you spent on your VMax?

Now THIS Thread deserves to be pinned. LOL

You need to state only the year and the amount (include the original purchase price) and whether or not your bike is ride-able at the moment. you may say anything else but you need to at least include those two pieces of info.

I bought my 86 Max for $500.00 running. Although it didn't run very well. $3000 later including a good used set of carbs, new tires, Morley Muscle seat, turn signals, rebuilt clutch and brake master cylinders, brake pads, wiring harness, windscreen, grips, refurbished backrest pad, rear brake caliper, motor mounts, new helmets, and misc stuff. All this and it still runs like crap! Owned the bike 4 months and haven't been on one good ride due to one issue or another.

I seriously doubt that anyone here has surpassed me, of course im not counting with the vendors or the ones that keep buying and selling bikes like Texas... But regarding numbers i don't even know nor i want to know or i'll have a stroke...

Close to another $4000.00 in mods, some of which cant go on til i get a different swingarm put on.
Runs good, could use a few carb tweeks, but runs good.
Probably another 10-15k to go before im done. I dream of a Supercharged stroker living in the frame and am doing everything i can to get the bike prepared to handle it. Maybe even some NOS too, just in case, Bwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

1985 rideable now will be a project bike I bartered with price so I would say 2,800 in 2002 . bought roughly 2,500 in goodies to install or resell also bought 09' vmax so I can continue to ride while my 85's on the table lift. 14,750 plus 2500 for mods for gen 2 . THUNDER !!!

2 carb rebuilds, undercut trans, two windscreens, gauges, exhaust, two sets of brakes, lines, two seats, and a bunch of other stuff. Probably $3k for all that.


$900 for the non-runner
Tins, Carbs, headlight, and some other small stuff. Probably about $1800 in that one. It's for sale as soon as it runs, though.

I paid $3500 with 12K on her. Since then, at least $2k on mods purchased frugally. It's worth it.
It appeases me for the Corvette I never could afford.
